Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the thermal impact resistance of a WC-base sintered hard alloy and enable the alloy to be welded by regulating the grain size of the WC, the amt. of Co and Ni as a binder and the mixing ratio therof and replacing part of the WC with carbides, nitrides or carbonitrides of one or more out of Ti, Ta, Nb, V and Cr.
CONSTITUTION: WC of 4W8μm in diameter is mixed with 15W30wt% of Ni+Co as a binder, molded, and sintered. At this time, 15vol% of less of the WC is replaced with carbides, nitrides or carbonitrides of one or more out of Ti, Ta, Nb, V and Cr. The amt. of the Co out of the Ni+Co binder is adjusted to 1/2 or less, pref. 2/5 or less, most pref. 1/3W1/30. Thus, a weldable sintered hard alloy with superior thermal impact resistance is obtd.
