Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled alloy with superior machinability by filling the pores of a sintered body having a specified composition contg. C, W, Co, etc. with an org. compound having a specified m.p. and by dispersing the resulting hard phase in a matrix having pearlite structure contg. V, Co, etc.
CONSTITUTION: 78.5W94.2% Alloy powder consisting of 1W10% Co, 0.1W3% one or two among W, V and Mo, ≤3% Ni and the balance Fe is blended with 0.7W 1.5% graphite powder, and the blend is mixed with an adequate amount of a lubricant, compression-molded, and heated at 1,100W1,200°C for 15W60min to form a sintered body. This body is then sealed by filling an org. compound having 120W 250°C m.p. or the like, and a hard phase is dispersed in the resulting pearlite matrix to obtain the titled sintered alloy which is hardly worn even if given a hot shock. The hard phase is formed with alloy powder consisting of 30W50% Mo, 20W60% Co, 1W4% C and the balance Fe and/or alloy powder consisting of 5W25% W, 20W60% Co, 1W4% C and the balance Fe.
