Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the title alloy contg. a specified amt. of C, Cr, Mo, W, V, Nb, Ta, etc., having a structure contg. uniformly dispersed carbide particles, and exhibiting superior wear resistance useful for the pad face, etc. of a valve rocker arm of an internal combustion engine.
CONSTITUTION: The alloy contains C 1.0W3.0%, Cr 6.1W20.0% and one or more kinds of metals selected from Mo 0.5W10.0%, W 0.5W10.0%, V 0.2W0.5%, Nb 0.2W5.0% and Ta 0.2W5.0% (Cr+Mo+W+V+Nb+Ta≤20.0%). Ni 0.5W 10.0% and Co 0.5W10.0% may be contained. The alloy has a theoretical density ratio above 90% and a structure contg. uniformly dispersed carbide particles of 30W50μm.
