Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a sintered alloy with superior wear resistance and machinability by mixing Fe powder with alloy powder or Fe-Mo and Cr-Mo-Ni or Mo-Ni or carbide powder as a hard phase component followed by compacting and sintering.
CONSTITUTION: Fe powder is mixed with 20W100μ alloy powder of Fe-Mo (Mo 50W70%) and Ni-Mo-Cr (Mo 20W50% and Cr 5W20%) or Ni-Mo (Mo 20W50%) or carbide powder as a hard phase component within the ranges of Cr 0.2W5%, Ni 0.5W10%, Mo 4W12% and C 0.2W2%. The Fe-Mo alloy has a Vickers microhardness of 400 or more. CaF2 or BaF2 0.2W10% as a lubricating element is added to the mixture, well mixed, compacted, and sintered in a reducing atmosphere of 1000W1250°C for 15W60min. The above-mentioned hard particles are dispersed in the Fe matrix by 5W30%, and a sintered alloy with superior wear resistance and machinability is manufactured.
