Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a Fe base sintered alloy that exhibits excellent resistance to heat and wear and self-lubricating properties even when a fuel that will not produce any lubricating component is used, by incorporating, in addition to C and Cr, Mo, W and S, and additionally B, P, and Si.
CONSTITUTION: The sintered alloy contains 0.5W3% of C, 5W20% of Cr, 0.1W 10% of one or more selected from Mo and W, 0.05W2% of S, 0.01W2% of one or more selected from B, P and Si, and, if required, 0.2W5% of CaF2, BaF2 or BN finely dispersed in crystal grain regions 0.1W10% of one or more selected from Ni and Co, 0.5W20% of Cu and the balance of Fe and unavoidable impurities. In this alloy, phases of self-lubricating fine sulfide or a sulf-lubricating agent good at adhering with the base are homogenously dispersed in the crystal grain regions, and the metal carbide phases and alloy phases are uniformly dispersed. The B, P and Si activate the sintering when the alloy is produced, provide the formation of stabilized of carbides and increase the density, but the excess thereof makes it brittle remarkably. The Mo and W improve the resistance to heat, the hardenability and the resistance to wear.
