Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain sufficient ignition preventing effect without using expensive nitrogen gas by communicating a gas vent pipe connected to the lower part of a coal storage tank with a combustion chamber via a blower and connecting the after-stage of the combustion chamber with the upper part of the tank via a heat exchanger.
CONSTITUTION: When coal is supplied into a bunker 1 via a conveyer 3 and a bucket elevator 2, the amount of gas in the bunker 1 corresponding to that of the supplied coal is discharged outside the bunker 1 through a ventilating port (illustration omitted). When coal is filled in the bunker 1, a supply port 4 is closed, but at this time, air accompanied at the time of coal loading remains in the bunker 1. Therefore, gas is supplied continuously from the lower part of the tank 1 to a combustion chamber 8 via an exhaust pipe 6 and a blower 7 and burned by, for example, a gas burner. After that, said combustion gas is cooled by a heat exchanger 10 and then supplied to the bunker 1 from the vicinity of the top of the bunker 1, and by circulating said combustion gas, oxygen concentration in the bunker 1 is reduced.
