Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent an ignition phenomenon due to the difference of the kinds of powdered coal by setting the limit of oxygen concentration in a pressure tank by an ignition temperature under the pressure of the transporting condition of powdered bodies and the value of the partial pressure of oxygen required. CONSTITUTION:Transportation gas is supplied into a pressure tank 12 through a regulating valve 15 under a condition that the pressure tank 12 is filled with powdered coal to increase pressure in the tank, and a discharging valve 18 and a booster valve 20 are opened. Consequently, the powdered coal in the tank is forwarded to a transport line 17 at the high ratio of a solid and a gas together with the transport gas, and transported to a combustion apparatus 21. Various oxygen concentration of the samples of the powdered coal and the ignition temperature under the pressure of actual transport are measured while the partial pressure of oxygen required is selected from the pressure of transport operation, and the allowable limit of oxygen concentration in the pressure tank 12 is set. Accordingly, the ignition phenomenon due to the difference of the kinds of the powdered coal in the pressure tank can be prevented positively.
