Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent explosion of powdered coal during transportation and to burn a low calory gas in a stabilized condition by a method wherein the transportation of the powdered coal is made by the use of the low calory gas such as a blast furnace gas or a cork furnace gas.
CONSTITUTION: The powdered coal from a storage tank 2 is mixed and floated in a pressurized gas from a cork furnace or blast furnace gas pipe 7 and is supplied under pressure directly to a combustion apparatus through a pressure pipe 4 for combustion. With the above structure, a pressure shifter, a cyclone or the like is no more required and the combustion operation of the powdered coal can be performed safely without the danger of explosion of the powdered coal during transportation. Further, as the furnace gas or the like is burned after it is mixed with the powdered coal, the mixture can be burned in a stabilized condition.
