Abstract

PURPOSE: To utilize incineration air effectively and reduce the amount of exhaust gas to be treated by a method wherein an exhaust gas passage is closed by a solenoid valve to feed the exhaust gas into an air feed passage when the oxygen content of the exhaust gas is above a predetermined value.
CONSTITUTION: With an air feed fan 7 operated, an incinerator 1 operated and the oxygen content value measured by a measuring instrument 8 being above a predetermined value, solenoid valves 4 and 5 close so that the exhaust gas from the incinerator 1 flows through a recirculation passage 6 into an air feed passage 2 and is refed into the incinerator 1 to be reused as incineration air. With oxygen consumed by the recirculation of the exhaust gas into the incinerator 1 and with the measurement value of the instrument 8 lowered below the predetermined value, the solenoid valves 4 and 5 open so that fresh air is fed from an air feed port 10 into the incinerator 1. With the oxygen content of the exhaust gas increased and hence the measurement value raised above the predetermined value by this feed of fresh air, the solenoid valves 4 and 5 reclose so that the exhaust gas is refed into the incinerator 1. These operations are repeated to utilize air effectively.
