Abstract
PURPOSE: To achieve the improvement in the accuracy of the span calibration of a high sensitivity oxygen analyzer of air standard type by performing the span correction by substituting auxiliary gas with nitrogen gas for the magnetic type oxygen analyzer which measures the oxygen densities in the measuring gas.
CONSTITUTION: With the air standard type oxygen analyzer, air is used as the auxiliary gas within the dotted line B and valves 11 thru 13 are so set that the same dry air in the dotted line A flows into the measuring chamber 1 through filter 10 and inlet port 2. The swing of the pointer of the analyzer is 0 and this position is made 0 of the meter pointer. In span calibration, the auxiliary gas into the chamber 1 is changed over from air to nitrogen gas by the valve 13, then the analyzer changes over to a zero reference type oxygen analyzer and in this state the span calibrating gas of oxygen of 1.8% is introduced from pipe 2 into the chamber 1 through the valves 11, 12. When the electromagnetic device of the analyzer is energized, the pointer indicates 1.8% oxygen density, thus the oxygen density may be obtained with the accuracy within the order of ±2% similar to the accuracy of standard gas and the accuracy of the span calibration enhanced considerably.
