Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the performance of response and the safety of the device by using a flow indicator and a photoelectric detector.
CONSTITUTION: A mesh 4 for stabilizing the gas flow is provided in a cell 3 with a sample gas inlet 1 and outlet 2, the flow indicator 7 is rotatably supported by a pivot 13, and electromagnets 5, 5 and the photoelectric detector 6 are installed on the outside of the cell. When both the electromagnets 5, 5 are alternately energized and a sample gas is passed through the cell on making itself a laminar flow, a difference between the right and left flows in the central part of the cell 3 is produced by the alternately provided magnetic field if a gas such as oxygen with a large paramagnetic factor is contained in the sample gas, and the flow indicator 7 is deflected on right and left. Accordingly the concentration of magnetized gas (oxygen or the like) in the sample gas can be measured with a good response and no danger of explosion by detecting the degree of deflection of the flow indicator 7.
