Abstract

PURPOSE: To control the incineration of solvent vapors to be constantly optimum by a method wherein the amount of air supplied into an incinerator is regulated so that the concentration of residual oxygen in combustion exhaust gas at an exhaust- gas outlet port of the incinerator becomes constant.
CONSTITUTION: The solvent vapors are generated when a coated material 2 to be treated is dried in a drying oven 1. The vapor are introduced into an incinerator 3, where they are incinerated by supplying air, and a part of the resulting combustion exhaust gases is returned into the drying oven 1. An oxygen concentration meter 12 is fitted to the exhaust-gas outlet port of the incinerator 3, an output of the meter 12 is fed to a setter 13, and by controlling an air flow regulating valve 11 through the setter 13, the amount of air supplied into the incinerator 3 is regulated so that the amount of the residual oxygen in the combustion exhaust gases becomes about 2%. Thus, the incineration of the solvent vapors can be controlled to be always optimum.
