Abstract
PURPOSE:To make an inert gas of extremely small contents of oxygen and effectively utilize the same as a high temp. gas for heat treatment furnaces by passing a high temp. waste combustion gas to a combustion device having catalysts, and using the residual oxygen for combustion. CONSTITUTION:Radiant tubes 2 are disposed in a heat treatment furnace 1, and the high temp. gas burned by burners 5 is passed therethrough, thereby indirectly heating the inside of the furnace 1. The wate combustion gas is sucked by a fan 4, and part thereof is released through anexhaust passage 6. The remaining part is put into a combustion device 12 through an oxygen analyzer 8. In the device 8, the amount of residual oxygen in the waste combustion gas is analyzed, and by the value thereof, the valve 9 of a combustion supply passage 11 for kerosene, LPG, etc. is regulated and the fuel conforming to the residual oxygen is fed to the device 12, where the kerosene or the like is burned by the residual oxygen in the presence of oxidation catalysts such as Pt or V, whereby the content of oxygen is considerably reduced. Next, moisture contents, sulfur, etc. are removed with a purifier, and the gas is introduced as a clean inert gas of high temp. into the furnace 1.
