Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce NOx in first-stage fuel combustion gas, by supplying fuel in two stages, separating first-stage fuel flame from second-stage fuel flame, and operating combustion by steps by means of second-stage fuel. CONSTITUTION:Fuel containing organic nitrogen is supplied as first-stage fuel 1 together with first-stage air 5 from burner tip 3 and is burned completely in first- stage combustion furnace 6. Second-stage fuel 4 is supplied excessively, if necessary, together with second-stage air 7, into the combustion-completed exaust gas, and the mixture is fed to second-stage combustion furnace 9 and is subjected to second-stage combustion. After operating denitrification on NOx contained in first-stage combustion gas, third-stage air 8 required for the complete combustion of the excessive second-stage fuel is supplied to third-stage combustion furnace 10, and it is subjected to complete combustion. By operating combustion by steps in this way, NOx contained in second-stage fuel combustion gas can be reduced to less than 1/5 regardless of fuel-thermal NOx.
