Abstract

PURPOSE: To decrease NOx, by incompletely burning fuel and adding such gas as to the combustion gas to supply about 0.3% or less of oxygen to the combustion gas and thereafter supplying air to burn the unburned substances.
CONSTITUTION: The fuel is injected into a combustion furnace 1 through a pipe 3 and a burner 4 and burned by air A. A part of the combustion gas in a flue 6 is sucked through a pipe 8 by a recycling fan 7 and distributed to passages Ga1WGa3. The combustion gas in the passage Ga1 is blown to the bottom 1a of the furnace so that the combustion gas is diffused into the combustion flame C to lower the combustion temperature to decrease the Nox. The combustion gas in the passage Ga2 is mixed into the air A so that the concentration of the oxygen is reduced to lower the combustion temperature to decrease the Nox. The combustion gas in the passage Ga3 is blown into the incomplete combustion gas produced in a main burning portion to supply 0.3% or less of oxygen to this combustion gas to completely burn it.
