Abstract

PURPOSE: To adjust a supply amount of activated sludge or oxygen gas accurately by a method wherein, in the case of removing nitrogen oxide as nitrogen gas by reducing nitrogen oxide within water to be treated by activated sludge, an amount of a nitrogen component is directly detected.
CONSTITUTION: A nitrogen component content of water to be treated is detected by a chemical quantitative analysis or other known various means and a supply amount of activated sludge or oxygen gas is adjusted according to the detecting result. For example, a nitrogen component detecting mechanism 7 is provided to a supply passage R1 of water to be treated or a supply passage R2 communicating with an oxidizing treatment tank 1 and a float separation tank 3 and an air sucking amount of a blower 5 or a supply amount of sludge by a variable valve 6 is adjusted according to the detected result.
