Abstract

PURPOSE:To carry out a nitration and denitrification treatment in good efficiency by a method wherein a nitration tank and a denitrification tank are connected and an automatic control apparatus for detecting a dissolved oxygen amount in the treating water contg. an activated sludge within the denitrification tank and a redox electric potential to supply a gas contg. oxygen is provided. CONSTITUTION:A denitrification tank 2 is connected to a nitration tank 1 and a stirring device 8 is provided to each tanks 2a, 2b, 2c of the denitrification tank 2 as well as a detecting device 10 for detecting an amt. of dissolved oxygen and a redox electric potential 10 is provided. Based on this detected value, a cock 11 is operated by a control device 12 to maintain the amt. of dissolved oxygen and a redox electric potential in each tanks 2a, 2b, 2c to a set range. Thereby, oxygen deficiency to activated sludge is avoided and nitration and denitrification treatments are efficiently carried out while generation of rotting is prevented. Moreover, the amt. of the dissolved oxygen is controlled to about 10% or less and a redox electric potential to 0mm.V or less.
