Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the subject system wherein sludges to be returned are dehydrated prior to returning, thereby to reduce the burden of a returning pump and improve the treating ability of an aeration tank.
CONSTITUTION: Flowing-in water to be treated flows in an aeration tank 3 through a flow path 2 having a flow water detector 1, and under an aerobic condition, is subjected to activated sludge treatment. Thereafter water is sent to a precipitation pond 4 and the supernatnat liquid is taken out to the outside ass flowing out water. A part of the sludge is returned from a flow path 6 to the aeration tank 3 by adjusting the quantity of displacement of the pump 5 by a controller 7. Upon this occasion, when a dehydrating device 8 is fitted to the former stage of the pump 5 and the sludge to be returned is dehydrated, a small quantity of the sludge may be sufficient, and the flow quantity of the flow in water can be relatively increased and the load of the pump 5 is reduced.
