Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain stable water quality of treated water by preventing the shortage of activated sludge through a mechanism wherein a sewage storage tank is provided so as to flow an almost constant amount of sewage into an aeration tank and a sedimentation tank as well as an excessive amount of sludge exhausted out of a system is controlled.
CONSTITUTION: The sewage is introduced into an aeration tank 2 through a storage tank 1 and, after treated, is sent to a sedimentation tank 3 and the treated water is discharged from a pipe 4. The activated sludge is taken out by a pump 7 and sent to a sewage storage tank 18 and most of the sludge is returned to an aeration tank 2 and a part thereof is discharged as excessive sludge through a control valve 21. Herein, a flow amount value of an inflow sewage and a water quality value measured by a flow meter 9 and a water quality meter 10 are applied to a caluculator 19 as well as subjected to comparative calculation with a preliminarily provided set value 22 to control a control valve 12 so as to adjust a flow amount of sewage per day to an average value and, moreover, the control of activated sludge to be stored in a sludge storage tank 18 is carried out by a control valve 21.
