Abstract

PURPOSE: To control the BOD value of the discharged water to a predetermined value by a mechanism wherein two aeration tanks for measuring CO2 are provided at a proper place between the rear half portion of an aeration tank and the inlet of a precipitation tank and a part of waste water is introduced into these each tanks and CO2 amount generated by the aeration under a specific condition is measured.
CONSTITUTION: The sewage of a tank 1 and the aqueous phosphoric acid solution are introduced into a main aeration tank 5 by a pump 3, 4 and the aeration treated liquid is transferred to an aeration tank 7 and 9 for measuring CO2 through a precipitation pond 11 by a pump 3, 4 and a fresh BOD source R is also supplied into the aeration tank 9 through a tank 10 for storing the BOD source. The aeration tank 7, 9 are aerated by the air for removing CO2 and the generated CO2 amount is measured, thereafter the solution is entered into a precipitation pond 11. The BOD value in the mixed liquid is calculated from the each measured value of CO2 by the calculating formula (not displayed) and the information based on the calculated value drives each adjustable pump for adjusting the amount of the inflowed water and the returned sludge or a control pump for the aeration amount to adjust the BOD value of the discharged water to a predetermined value.
