Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance the quality of discharged water through maintaining constant mean value for sludge concentration in an aeration tank by a method wherein sludge content in sewage treatment process is always controlled at a proper value even when sludge suction pump is intermittently operated.
CONSTITUTION: Accumulated value (QWT) of suction quantity is obtained assuming a case in which sludge is continuously sucked when sludge suction pump is stopped. From QWT, necessary quantity (QWT/T) to be sucked during a time given fro operation of the suction pump. This is add to the quantity of suction sludge to determine the sludge to be drawn actually. In actual operation, a target value is determined from sludge concentration in the aeration tank, returned sludge concentration, and sludge operation days. Then, the sludge suction quantity (QW) is determined so that the process operation days can meet the target value, effecting sludge control.
