Abstract
PURPOSE: To control swell of sludge and to efficiently treat org. waste water using a continuous type activated sludge treating system by mixing return sludge from a settling vessel with part or all of the waste water in the absence of oxygen while agitating to destroy filamentous fungi.
CONSTITUTION: Sewage W1 is fed into mixing tank 1b with raw water pump 3 through raw water flow rate regulation tank 1a. In tank 1b sewage W1 is mixed with return sludge from settling vessel 2a in the absence of oxygen while agitating for 1W4hr to destory filamentous fungi in the sludge. The mixt, is then fed into aeration tank 1c to well digest BOD constituents by aeration, and the overflow is introduced into vessel 2a to settle sludge, which is repeatedly returned to tank 1b with air lift pump 7. Clean supernatant W2 is drained through water tank 2b. In tank 1b activated sludge contg. no filamentous fungus exhibits good settleability, resulting in efficient waste water treatment.
