Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform nitration by a reduced amount of sludge while eliminating the rate limit due to the insufficiency of oxygen in a nitration tank, by accurately determining the nitrating state in an aeration tank by measuring the distribution of the oxygen consumption speed in a flow-down direction and controlling the air feed amount of the aeration tank corresponding to the nitrating state. CONSTITUTION:A profile measuring means 8 measures the distribution of the oxygen utilizing speed in the flow-down direction within an aeration tank 6 and the concn. of the dissolved oxygen at the inlet part of the aeration tank 6 is measured by a dissolved oxygen meter 9 and, further, the concn. of phosphorus in treated water due to a treatment system is measured by a phosphorus densitometer 15. A nitrating state judging means 2 has a function judging wheter a nitrating state is insufficient or excessively advanced on the basis of the distribution of the oxygen utilizing speed measured by the means 8 and also has a function generating an order for increasing the aeration air amount at the inlet of the aeration tank when the nitrating state is insufficient or the concn. of dissolved oxygen at the inlet of the aeration tank is a set value or less on the basis of said judge function, and a function generating an order reducing the aeration air amount at the inlet of the aeration tank when nitration is excessively advanced and the value of the densitometer 15 is a set value or less.
