Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain treated water of always stable water quality with good efficiency by calculating the consumption rate of the dissolved oxygen of the liquid in an aeration tank by using an automatic controller, and stopping the aeration when the calculated value lowers below the limit value set beforehand in the automatic controller.
CONSTITUTION: Raw water is fed from a storage tank to an aeration tank 3 with a pump 2, and air is blown thereto through a nozzle 5 with a fan 4, whereby said water is aerated. Part of the liquid in the tank 3 is fed via a sensor 8 by a pump 7 to a dissolved oxygen densitometer 9, by which the dissolved oxygen concn. after oxygen is consumed by the activated sludge during passage through the inside of a piping 6 is measured. The measured value is introduced into an automatic controller 10 and the measured value by a sensor 11 is also introduced to the controller 10. Here, the rate of oxygen consumption is calculated from the difference between the measured values of the sensors 8, 11, and the time when the liquid in the tank passes through the piping and arrives at the sensor 8. The result thereof and the set value are compared and at the point of the time when the calculated value attains the value below the set value, the aeration is stopped, and the treated water is discharged from a discharge pipe 12.
