Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a treated water of excellent quality stably at a low cost, by controlling an aeration air flow amount and a returning sludge flow amount at proper levels.
CONSTITUTION: A dissolved oxygen (DO) concentration and an oxygen consuming speed (Rr) are measured by a meter 10 and a meter 11, respectively, arranged in an aeration vessel 2. The outputs from the meters 10 and 11 are fed to comparators 12 and 13, respectively. In each comparators 12, 13, the respective DO concentration or Rr is classified in several groups on the basis of preset values. The comparator 12 or 13 decides which group an output from the DO meter 10 or the Rr meter 11 belongs to. Outputs from the comparators 12, 13 are fed to an adjuster which memories plural calculation formulas for determining variations of an aeration air flow amount and a sludge returning amount on the basis of combination of the DO concentration and Rr classifications. The adjuster 14 is also fed with outputs from a flow meter 15 for measuring an aeration air amount, from a sludge concentration meter 17 and a flow meter 18 arranged in a sludge returning pipe 4. The aeration air flow amount and the returning sludge weight are controlled at proper levels by operations of control valves 16, 19. Thus, filthy water is decontaminated efficiently at a low cost.
