Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable a F/M measurement (F: Concentration of organic materials flowing into aeration tank, M: Amount of microbes in aeration tank) at an aeration tank by using a fixed microbe electrode of microbes as measuring medium.
CONSTITUTION: Sewage water is guided to the first sedimentation tank 2, the aeration tank 3, subject to aeration treatment by the air-blow pipe 5 from the blower 4, and discharged through the final sedimentation tank 6, the disinfecting tank 7 to be flowed. The arithmetic unit 11 makes calculation by using the electric signals from the fixed microbe electrode 12 to measure the concentration of organic materials in sewage which is flowing in, the suspended material concentration meter 13, the returned sludge concentration meter 14, and the returned sludge flow meter 15. Then, the arithmetic unit 11, using stored program, controls the valve 10 to have the degree fo opening so that the value of F/M, the ratio of organic materials to the amount of microbes in the aeration tank 3, can be maintained at the optimum constant value, regulating the amount of returned sludge from the final sedimentation tank 6.
