Abstract
PURPOSE: A titled flow rate control unit which enables treated water of good quality to be stably obtained by accurately and easily obtaining the weight of the sludge stagnating in a final sedimentation basin through calculation and further controlling the flow rate of excess sludge with a mean cell stagnating time as an index.
CONSTITUTION: This flow rate control unit has an aeration tank 2 supplying waste water, activated sludge and air as well as a final sedimentation basin 3 making solid-liquid separation of the mixed liquid flowing out from this tank 2 to treated water and activated sludge. The activated sludge accumlated in the bottom of the basin 3 is drawn and part thereof is returned 4 to the tank 2, whereby the excess activated sludge is discharged 9 to outside the system. Then, based on the basin 3 model, the weight of the sludge stagnating in the basin 3 is accurately and easily obtained through computation. Since this enables the weight of the total sludge in the water treatment system to be obtained, it is possible to easily obtain the weight of the excess sludge for the purpose of maintaining a mean cell stagnation time accurately at a set value. As a result, the treated water of good quality may be obtained stably for a long time.
