Abstract
PURPOSE: To determine sludge concn. accurately by using time series of numerical values by monitoring means for sewage flow rates, sludge concns., etc. as inputs, and total-mixing-flow-to-volume ratios, piston-flow-to-volume ratios and short- circuiting flow rates as parameters.
CONSTITUTION: An arithmetic circuit using the volume ratios of the perfectly mixed flow part which is the main flow in a segment tank and the piston flow part as well as the ratios of the short-circuiting flow or counter current flow which is the side flow of said flow to the inflow rates of the segment tank as parameters by using the model consisting of the mixed flow combined by adding the perfectly mixed flow 12-1 or piston flow 12-2 or diffused flow or the weights of their flow rates is provided. If this segment tank 3 is assumed to be the j-th tank counted from the inlet of the aeration tanks, the mixed liquid flowed into the j tank by passing the clearance 10 of the semgnet part from the prestage tank j-1, tank 7-1 partly branches short-circuiting flow 8 then it combines with counter current flow 14 to main flow 12.
