Abstract

PURPOSE: To utilize ozone efficiently and oxidize thiosulfate approximately complete by a method wherein the pH of waste water containing thiosulfate is first adjusted to 6W9 and then adjusted to 11 or more and treated when the waste water is aerated with ozone.
CONSTITUTION: Waste water is introduced into the first ozone aeration tank 6a, and the opening and closing of the first valve 3a is controlled in response to the measuring value of the first pH measuring instrument 4a, an acidic or alkaline liquid is injected from a pH regulating liquid storage tank 2a and pH is adjusted to 6W9 while ozone is supplied from an ozonizer 5 by means of the first dispersing plate 7a, and the waste water is oxidized with ozone. The treated waste water is introduced into the second ozone aeration tank 6b, and pH is adjusted to 11 or more by adding an alkaline liquid from an alkaline liquid storage tank 2b, but the treatment operation is the same as the said one. Treated water is discharged through a neutralizing tank 9. Ozone exhausted is decomposed at an ozone decomposing tower 8.
