Abstract

PURPOSE: To miniaturize treatment apparatus for excretion by saving the consumption of water resource and also by reducing the amount of the treated object by maintaining excretion at higher concentrations in the oxidative and reductive treatment of the excretion.
CONSTITUTION: Untreated excretion or high concentrations thereof from water closet is supplied to the aeration tank 2 where organics are nitrogenous compounds in excretion are treated by chemical oxidation with stirring and biolochemical oxygen demand is lowered and also nitrogenous compounds such as ammonia nitrogen, etc., are converted into nitrogen oxides by biologically ocidative treatment using activated sludge. The supply paths b and c for oxidationally treated excretion and return sludge are connected to the reductive tank 3, where the oxidized excretion is subjected to reductive treatment wherein nitrogen oxides is reduced to nitrogen gas.
