Abstract
PURPOSE: For efficient, high-degree waste water treatment with reduced BOD, organic materials in organic waste water is decomposed by iron salt and hydrogen peroxide to produce material which is biologically easy to decompose, then purified by use of fixed-bed biological treatment.
CONSTITUTION: Organic waste water such as sewage exuded from waste reclaimed land is added with iron salt catalyst such as ferrous sulfate and hydrogen peroxide to permit organic material in the waste water to be oxidized and decomposed in the range of pH 2W4. Thereafter, alkaline agent is added to make pH from 3 to 5.5, thereby removing iron salt catalyst, undecomposed high molecular materials which is hard to be decomposed biologically, coloring components together with flocks of ferric hydroxide. The treated water is neutralized, and purified by use of fixed-bed biological treatment. As such, the process of waste water effectively purifies BOD and COD components at the same time.
