Abstract

PURPOSE: To decompose the trichloroethylene in waste liquid effectively by subjecting said waste liquid to ozone aeration to cause oxidation decomposition and at the same time, neutralizing the formed hyrochloric acid wth an alkali.
CONSTITUTION: Steam 10 is introduced into an active carbon adsorbing tower 8 to desorb trichloroethylene, and waste water 11 contg. trichloroethylene is stored in a storage tank 21. The waste water 11 is conducted to an aeration tower 22, and ozone-contg. air is fed from an ozonizer 25 to cause ozone aeration of the waste water 11 in the tower 22, whereby the trichloroethylene is oxidized and decomposed. The ozone treated water 23 contg. hydrochloric acid is conducted to a releasing water storage tank 27, where its pH is measured with a pH meter 28. An alkali 26 such as caustic soda is injected into the tank 27 to control 5.8W8.6pH, and the ozone treated water 23 is released. Waste gas 24 is subjected to decomposition treatment in an active carbon tower 30, after which it is releasd as a clean gas 29 into the atmosphere.
