Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce a running cost and to exclude a waste liquid treating process through the mechanism wherein an malodor gas is treated by the water obtained by the electrolysis of the sea water of an aqueous brine and the treated liquid is regenerated and used by the electrolysis.
CONSTITUTION: The malodor gas is introduced from a gas inlet pipe 13 into an adsorbing tower main body 11 and contacted countercurrently with the treating liquid sprayed from a spray 14 of the upper part of the tower, thereafter the treated gas is exhausted from a pipe 16. The treating liquid absorbing a sulfur compound from the odoriferous gas is returned from the bottom portion of the tower to a circulating liquid receiving chamber and, thereafter, transfered by a gas diffusing pipe 9 to an electrolysis chamber in which a fluidized bed of the activated carbon is formed by the air stirring the regenerate the treating liquid of which the oxidizing power is lowered by the electrolysis and to decompose above described sulfur compound by oxidation.
