Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the danger of dust explosion, suppress the generation of NOX, unnecessitate an air preheater and simplify the structure or the like by a method wherein the combustion exhaust gas is recirculated as a high temperature medium in the pulverized coal firing boiler. CONSTITUTION:The combustion exhaust gas is used as the high temperature medium for carrying, drying and burning of pulverized coal. The recirculating exhaust gas is sucked by means of a draft fan 10 through an combustion exhaust gas recirculating gas duct 14, the intake port of which is provided at the inlet or outlet of an economizer 3, mixed with the air from a bypass duct 12 and, after being controlled to suitable temperature, sent to a pulverizer 11. The coal is fed from a feeder 19 to the pulverizer 11, pulverized therewith, dried and carried by the high temperature combustion exhaust gas through a pipe 17 to a burner 20 and spouted from the burner 20 into a furnace 1 to be burnt. Because the combustion exhaust gas having a low oxygen concentration is used for carrying and drying of the pulverized coal, the danger of dust explosion is almost eliminated and also the burning itself proceeds under the condition that the exhaust gas having a low oxygen concentration inactivates around the pplverized coal, resulting in inhibiting the remarkable suppressing effect to the production of NOX.
