Abstract

PURPOSE: To achieve lowering of excess air ratio and stabilization of combustion at the same time by adding a gaseous fuel to 20W85 % of total combustion waste gas to the extent of 10 % of total heat capacity or less and by circulating thus blended gaseous body through the system.
CONSTITUTION: A part of combustion waste gas to be discharged to atmosphere through a smoke stack 4 is circulated to the top of a combustion furnace 1 or a flue 3, and by providing the circulating gas with a part of a gaseous fuel 6 used by a combustion system, it is allowed to burn in the flue 3 without causing to it red flame. In this way, it is possible to easily lower oxygen concentration in the combustion waste gas while operating the combustion system at satisfactorily stabilized burning condition so that energy efficiency can be improved and at the same time injurious substances, such as fume and nitrogen oxides, etc., contained in the combustion waste gas can be minimized. Moreover, it is also possible to prevent a heater from being damaged and protect an object being heated from undesirable thermal decomposition.
