Abstract

PURPOSE: To heat-treat coal safely at a low cost, by predrying highly hygroscopic coal of low carbon content before rapid heating, and burning the tar content in the waste gas after the rapid heating completely to reutilize the generated high-temperature gas.
CONSTITUTION: Coal 2 is predried in a fluidized bed 2 and heat-treated in a fluidized bed 4 at a heating rate of 100°C/min or more to the final temperature of 300W 500°C. Waste gas for the rapid heating is mixed with part of the waste gas separated from a cyclone 3, recycled to a hot air generating furnace 1 to burn the tar content completely. A high-temperature gas generated in the combustion is used as a rapid heating and predrying gas.
EFFECT: No trouble due to the tar and free from the danger of explosion and spontaneous ignition.
