Abstract

PURPOSE: To establish the continuous and stable combustion of the biomass in automatic process by a method wherein a fuel receiver, carbonization tube, carbon receiver and a stoker are arranged vertically and the air flow resistance from the surface of repose of the fuel located between the carbonization tube and the carbon receiver to the atmosphere is rendered to be small.
CONSTITUTION: The fuel in a storage tank 19 is filled to the fuel receiver 1, the carbonization tube 2 and the carbon receiver 3 by opening a shutter 20. Because the air flow resistance from the carbon receiver 3 through the surface of repose 5 to the atmosphere is small, the fuel burns with the primary air from air supply ports 8 by setting fire to the surface of repose 5 and driving a blower 17. Ash and dust fall down by means of the intermittent drive of the stoker 4. Hot air ascends in a chamber 6 to heat the tube 2, resulting in carbonizing the fuel in the tube 2. The gas produced in the carbonization is induced together with the hot air from the surface 5 into a combustion tube 9 in order to be mixed with the air from air holes 11 and burnt again. After that, the exhaust gas is led through a heat exchanger 15 to the blower 17 and then discharged piercing the fuel in the storage tank 19.
