Abstract

PURPOSE: To achieve the improvement in the quality of recording images of an image receiving medium and the durability of sheet by constituting the image receiving medium with a conductive substrate and an image inducing layer and providing rectifying characteristic and the characteristic of trapping charges to the image inducing layer.
CONSTITUTION: An image receiving medium 2 is constituted by laminating an image inducing layer 22 on a conductive substrate 21. The image inducing layer 22 has the rectifying characteristic with the conductive substrate 21 that when the image receiving medium 2 is put in an electric field the charges injected from the conductive substrate 21 migrate to the surface of the photoreceptor 2 owing to said electric field. In addition, it has the characteristic of trapping the charge charged to the surface layer of the image receiving medium 2. Now, when the surface of the image inducing layer 22 is approached or contacted to a latent image carrier 1, the electric field by the electrostatic latent images is applied in the rectifying direction to the image receiving medium 2 and the charges from the conductive substrate 21 are trapped in the surface layer of the image receiving medium 1 through the image inducing layer 22, whereby the mirror shade latent images are formed. Since the charges to the mirror shade latent images are trapped in this way, the stability of the latent images, e.g., the quality of the recording images, may be improved and since the sheet may be formed thick, its durability may be improved.
