Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve the improvement in resolution by using the recording layer comprising disposing photoconductive materials on a conductive material at picture element spacings and coating dielectric material thereon, and letting the charges between the picture elements of latent images be erased through radiation of light. CONSTITUTION:A recording medium is constituted by forming photoconductors 7 on a conductor 6 and coating dielectric 5 thereon. The photoconductors 7 are so disposed as to oppose to the insulator portions 2 between the electrodes 1 and 1 of the recording head. With such constitution, the latent image dots are formed by having negative charges on the dielectric 5 with the spreading wider than the electrdes 1. Thereupon, when light is radiated, the photoconductors 7 assume conductivity, due to which part of the negative charges lose from the photoconductors 7 to conductor 6. Hence, the size of the latent image dots may be made nearly the same or lower than the diameter of the recording electrode 1, and the resolution of the recorded images may be enhanced.
