Abstract
PURPOSE:To achieve the improvement in resolution by using the recording layer comprising forming light non-transmittance layers at picture element spacings on the photoconductive material covering conductive material and coating dielectric material thereon and erasing the charges between the picture elements of latent images through radiation of light. CONSTITUTION:A recording medium is constituted by forming photoconductors 7 on a conductor 6, disposing light non-transmittance layers 8 at picture element spacings thereon and coating dielectric 5 over the entire surface. The latent image dots consisting of negative charges are formed on the dielectric 5 by having the spreading more than the diameter of electrodes 1. Thereupon, when light is radiated, the photoconductor portions 7 not coated with the light non-transmittance layer 8 assume conductivity, due to which part of the negative charges pass through the dielectric 5 and lose from the photoconductors 7 into the conductor 6. As a result of this, the size of the latent image dots may be made nearly the same or less than the diameter of the recording electrodes 1. Hence, the thickening of the latent image dots may be corrected and the resolution of the recorded images enhanced.
