Abstract
PURPOSE: To form the potential images of high contrast, in an electrophotographic receptor forming potential images by making use of the differences in distributing voltage owing to the change in the resistance of a photoconductive layer, by using the laminate of N type and P type photoconductive layers as the photoconductive layer.
CONSTITUTION: In the electrophotographic receptor consisting in providing a photoconductive layer on a substrate 2 provided with the light transmittable electrodes 6 and light shielding electrodes 7 disposed in a comb shape relative with each other, further providing isolating conductors 5 thereon to form a photoreceptor 1, applying image exposure while applying voltage between the above-mentioned electrodes 6 and 7 to generate the differences in distributing voltage between the exposed parts and the nonexposed parts and forming potential images by the differences in the surface potential of the photoreceptor 1 corresponding thereto, the laminate of an N type photoconductive layer 3 (for example, formed by CdS, CdSe, ZnO, etc.) and P type photoconductive layer 4 (for example, formed by Se, S, CdTe, etc.) is used as above-mentioned photoconductive layer.
