Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain distinct two color images free from mixed colors by forming a red color image on a three layer structure photoreceptor then performing AC destaticizing and generating only the surface potential of the black color image part by the subsequent entire surface exposure process thereby performing black color developing.
CONSTITUTION: The surface potential of a red color image after development shows a fairly large value. Thereupon, when AC destaticizing is performed, the charges of the region corresponding to the red color part becomes like Fig. (e) and the positive charges on a transparent dielectric layer 2 are redistributed between photoconductive layers 4, thus the surface potential becomes zero. Next, a high surface potential is generated as shown in Fig. (g) on the photoreceptor of the region corresponding to the black color part by the process (f) of the entire surface exposure. Because of this, if a suitable bias voltage is applied and black color development is performed, there is no deposition of black color toner on the red color image part and only the region corresponding to the black color part is developed, thus the two color images having distinct colors may be obtained.
