Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a large number of sheets of copy by exposing images to a photoreceptor previded with a layer contg. an org. photochromic compound on a photoconductive layer to form coloring image parts then repeating electrostatic charging of the entire part-full surface exposure-developing-transferring. CONSTITUTION:A photoconductive layer 2 and a layer 3 wherein an org. photochromic compound is dispersed in an insulation characteristic material are laminated on a conductive substrate 1, whereby a photoreceptor is formed. Images are exposed on this photoreceptor, whereby the org. photochromic compound is colored or decolored selectively, and colored images are formed on the layer 3. Thereafter, the entire surface is electrostatically charged and if the entire surface is exposed after this, the electric charge of the surface in the decolored parts leaks to form the electrostatic latent images corresponding to the colored images and therefore these images are transferred onto transfer paper after development. Since the colored images do not decolor on account of the presence of a difference in sensitivity, plural sheets of copy are obtained by repeating the full surface electrostatic charging and the subsequent stages.
