Abstract

PURPOSE: After a prescribed pattern is drawn on a metal base plate with an electrically conductive resin and the whole surface of the base plate are metal plated, intaglio engraving is effected by the photoengraving process to form depression parts different in depth by only one etching operation with high reproducibility in a short time and low costs.
CONSTITUTION: After a prescribed pattern 2 is drawn on metal base plate 1 with an electrically conductive resin, metal layer 3 is formed thereon. Then the photoengraving of the resulting plate is effected using a positive film that has the same pattern as pattern 2 on the base plate 1 as well as additional patterns other than the pattern 2 so that the pattern 2 in the positive film precisely overlaps with that on the base plate and the etching of the additional patterns is continued until the depressions reach base plate 1.
USE: The resulting plates can be used for embossing as well as for patterning synthetic resin lace.
