- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.バーストで伝送される伝送データを示す信号を受信するRF受信機であっ て、複数の選択可能なアンテナと、複数の選択可能な利得経路と、前記複数の選 択可能なアンテナの1つを選択するためにアンテナダイバーシティ手順を実行し 、前記複数の選択可能な利得経路の1つを選択するために利得制御手順を実行す るためのプロセッサとを有する前記RF受信機において、前記アンテナダイバー シティおよび利得制御手順を可能化し不能化する方法は、 各バーストに対し、受信信号の位相オフセットを示す周波数変動と、受信信号 におけるシンボルジッタを示すタイミング変動と、受信信号の電力レベルを示す 受信信号強度と、RF受信機によって検出されない多数のバーストを示すフレー ム誤り率とのうちの少なくとも1つの入力を受付けるステップと、 そのように受付けられた各入力を平均して、伝送されるデータの次のバースト に対応する時間期間の間各入力の評価を発生するステップと、 そのように平均された前記入力の各々に基づいて信号品質表示を発生するステ ップと、 前記信号品質表示に基づいて前記アンテナダイバーシティおよび前記利得制御 手順を不能化するステップとを含む、前記アンテナダイバーシティおよび利得制 御手順を可能化し不能化する方法。 2.伝送データの各バーストはCRC情報を含み、前記方法はさらに、 最も最近のバーストの間に受信機によってデータが受信されたかどうかを判断 するステップと、 データがそのように受信された場合には前記CRC情報に基づいてフレーム表 示を定義するステップとを含み、前記フレーム誤り率は前記フレーム表示に関連 する、請求項1に記載の方法。 3.前記信号品質表示が受容可能であるとき前記アンテナダイバーシティ手順 は不能化される、請求項1に記載の方法。 4.前記信号品質表示が受容可能であり、かつ前記受信信号強度か所定の信号 強度しきい値よりも大きいとき、前記利得制御手順は不能化される、請求項1に 記載の方法。 5.前記そのように平均された周波数変動が所定の周波数変動しきい値よりも 大きいことと、 前記そのように平均されたタイミング変動が所定のタイミング変動しきい値よ りも大きいことと、 前記そのように平均されたフレーム誤り率が所定のフレーム誤り率しきい値よ りも大きいことと、 前記そのように平均された受信信号強度表示が所定の信号強度しきい値よりも 小さいこととの各々が真である場合に、前記信号品質表示は受容可能であり、 前記信号品質表示が受容可能である場合にのみ、前記ア ンテナダイバーシティおよび前記利得制御手順は不能化される、請求項1に記載 の方法。 6.前記そのように受付けられる入力を平均するステップは無限インパルス応 答ディジタルフィルタを用いて実行される、請求項1に記載の方法。 7.空間的ダイバーシティを用いる通信システムにおけるビット誤り率を最適 化するために2つのアンテナの1つを選択する方法であって、前記通信システム はバーストでデータを伝送し、前記方法は、 送信される信号を受信するために第1のアンテナを選択するステップと、 前記送信された信号を受信してそれを受信信号として規定するステップと、 前記送信された信号のレベルを示す入力を受付けるステップとを含み、前記入 力は受信信号強度表示(RSSI)として定義され、前記方法はさらに、 多数のバーストに対して平均信号レベルを評価するステップと、 前記そのように評価された平均信号レベルと、前記第2のアンテナでの以前の 評価された信号レベルとに基づいて、第2のアンテナで信号レベルを評価するス テップと、 前記RSSIと前記第2のアンテナでの前記評価された信号レベルとを比較し て、前記2つのアンテナのうちの1つの選択を示すアンテナダイバーシティ表示 を与えるステ ップと、 前記アンテナダイバーシティ表示に基づいて前記2つのアンテナのうちの1つ を選択するステップとを含む、空間的ダイバーシティを用いる通信システムにお けるビット誤り率を最適化するために2つのアンテナのうちの1つを選択する方 法。 8.前記平均信号レベルを評価する前記ステップは無限インパルス応答ディジ タルフィルタを用いて実行される、請求項7に記載の方法。 9.そのように評価された平均信号レベルは少なくとも前記平均信号レベルの 以前の評価とRSSIとに基づく、請求項8に記載の方法。 10.前記第2のアンテナで信号レベルを評価する前記ステップは無限インパ ルス応答ディジタルフィルタを用いて実行される、請求項7に記載の方法。 11.前記そのように評価される前記第2のアンテナでの信号レベルは少なく とも前記第2のアンテナでの前記信号レベルの以前の評価と前記そのように評価 された平均信号レベルとに基づく、請求項10に記載の方法。 12.前記2つのアンテナのうちの1つを選択する前記ステップが可能化され るかどうかを示す選択可能化信号を受取るステップをさらに含み、 前記選択ステップが可能化されることを前記選択表示が示す場合にのみ前記選 択ステップは実行される、請求項7 に記載の方法。 13.RF受信機において利得制御を調整する方法であって、前記受信機は少 なくとも3つの選択可能な利得経路を有し、前記利得経路のうちの第1の利得経 路は最も高い利得を与え、前記利得経路のうちの第3の利得経路は最も低い利得 を与え、前記利得経路のうちの第2の利得経路は中間の利得を与え、前記方法は 、 前記3つの利得経路のうちの1つを選択し、前記利得経路を選択された利得経 路として定義するステップと、 送信される信号を受信するステップと、 前記送信される信号のレベルを示す入力を受付けるステップとを含み、前記入 力は受信信号強度表示(RSSI)として定義され、前記方法はさらに、 現在の信号レベルを定義するために、前記選択された利得経路の利得を前記R SSIと組合せるステップと、 前記現在の信号レベルに基づいて低利得累算器と高利得累算器とを更新するス テップと、 低利得経路が存在し、かつ前記低利得累算器が所定の切換しきい値を超える場 合には、低利得経路を選択するステップと、 高利得経路が存在し、かつ前記高利得累算器が前記所定の切換しきい値を超え る場合には、高利得経路を選択するステップとを含む、RF受信機において利得 制御を調整する方法。 14.前記受信信号の信号レベルの所望の範囲を示す高いしきい値と低いしき い値とを規定するステップと、 前記現在の信号レベルを、前記高いしきい値および前記低いしきい値と比較す るステップとをさらに含み、 前記高利得累算器および前記低利得累算器を更新する前記ステップは前記比較 に基づく、請求項13に記載の方法。 15.前記利得累算器を更新するステップは無限インパルス応答ディジタルフ ィルタを用いて実行される、請求項13に記載の方法。 16.前記受信信号の信号レベルの所望の範囲を示す高いしきい値と低いしき い値とを規定するステップと、 前記現在の信号レベルが前記高いしきい値を超える場合には、前記低利得累算 器に対応する前記無限インパルス応答フィルタにインパルスを入力するステップ と、 前記現在の信号レベルが前記低いしきい値を超える場合には、前記高利得累算 器に対応する前記無限インパルス応答フィルタに前記インパルスを入力するステ ップとをさらに含む、請求項16に記載の方法。
