Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a composition having scalp's stratum corneum desquamation- improving effect, containing erythritol. CONSTITUTION:This composition contains, as active ingredient, 0.0001-10wt.% of erythritol, a tetrose sugar alcohol found in lichen, Basidiomycetes and fruits, etc., and, besides, contains 0.05-3wt.% of at least one kind of mucopolysaccharide (e.g. hyaluronic acid, chondroitin tetrasulfuric acid). This composition can be used as a hair cosmetic such as hair tonic, hair liquid, hair cream or scalp treatment (esp. scalp cosmetic), being suitable for preventing dandruff and pruritus owing to its remedying effect for dermal physiology disorder due to scalp drying in winter or the stratum corneum desquamation from the scalp injured by hair dyeing or perming.
