Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 [産業上の利用分野] 本発明は、医療用容器に関する。特に、クローズド医療
システムに用いられる輸液剤やエレメンタルダイエット
(以下EDと略す)や抗生物質等を入れることができる医
療用容器およびその製造方法に関する。
さらに詳しくは、口元部と容器部を高周波誘導加熱によ
り溶着された医療用容器およびその製造方法に関する。
[従来の技術] 近年、輸液等の医療において、内容液が外界と接触する
ことを防止するためにクローズドシステムが用いられる
ようになってきている。このクローズドシステムに用い
られる医療用容器は、重力と容器の構造と容器の素材の
柔軟性によって内容液を排出することが必要である。ま
た、この種の医療用容器は、内容液を滅菌するために高
圧蒸気滅菌に耐える耐熱性を有する必要がある。さらに
内容液を外部から監視できるように、透明な材料で形成
されていることが好ましい。このような目的のために、
従来医療用容器の材質として、軟質ポリ塩化ビニル樹脂
やエチレン−酢酸ビニル共重合体が主に用いられてい
た。
また、ポリオレフィン系樹脂を用いて、口元部材と容器
部材を作製し、口元部材の溶着部の形状を舟型等にして
ヒートシールできるように工夫した医療用容器がある。
一方、EDや抗生物質は、凍結乾燥された粉末としてアル
ミパックやガラスビン等に封入されており、用時調整し
て用いられており、クローズドシステムに用いることが
できなかった。
また一般に、高周波誘導加熱を用いた接着方法として
は、被着体が磁性体の場合は、被着体同士の間に接着剤
としての熱可塑性樹脂を挟んで、磁界中で磁性体の被着
体を発熱させて接着剤である熱可塑性樹脂を溶融させて
接着する方法、被着体が非磁性体の場合は、被着体同士
の間に接着剤としての磁性物質を含んだ熱可塑性樹脂を
挟んで磁界中で接着剤を溶融させて接着する方法が知ら
れている。
[発明が解決しようとする問題点] 従来の医療用容器は、軟質ポリ塩化ビニルやエチレン−
酢酸ビニル共重合体で作られているものが多い。それ
は、軟質ポリ塩化ビニルやエチレン−酢酸ビニル共重合
体は誘電損失が高いので、高周波誘電加熱法により、口
元部と容器部を容易に溶着できるからであった。しか
し、軟質ポリ塩化ビニルは多量の可塑剤を含んでおり、
可塑剤が内容液中に溶出する恐れがあり安全性の面で問
題視されている。エチレン−酢酸ビニル共重合体は、成
形時に脱酢酸がおこり内容液中に溶出する恐れがあり、
またそのままでは、高圧蒸気滅菌に耐え得る耐熱性を持
っていない。そこで、エチレン−酢酸ビニル共重合体を
放射線の照射によって架橋して所定の耐熱性を持たせる
ようにしなければならず、容器製造に付加的な工程を要
するという問題点があった。そこで、安全性が高く優れ
た物性を有し、また価格的にも安価であるポリオレフィ
ン系樹脂が有望視されている。
しかしながら、このようなポリオレフィン系樹脂を用い
て所望の医療用容器を作製することは極めて困難であっ
た。一般にポリオレフィン系樹脂は、誘電損失が低いた
めに高周波電界を与えても溶着するほど発熱することは
ないので、軟質ポリ塩化ビニルやエチレン−酢酸ビニル
共重合体等と異なり高周波シールすることは不可能であ
る。従って、例えば医療用容器を二枚のポリオレフィン
製シートにより形成しようとする合、シートを重ね合わ
せて口元部材とインパルスシールやヒートシールにより
溶着しようとする。ところが、高周波シールとは異なり
インパルスシールは、複雑な形状に溶着することが困難
であり、またヒートシールは外部加熱であるので、シー
トと口元部材のように肉厚の異なる材料を円筒等の外周
上で溶着することが困難であるため、どうしても医療用
容器の上端部に設けられる小口径の口元部をうまく形成
することができなかった。また、口元部材の溶着部の形
状を舟型にして、できるだけ平面に近い状態で口元部と
容器部を溶着する方法が提案されているが、まだ溶着部
のシールが不完全なため内容液の漏出が時々発生し、さ
らに製造コストが高くなるという問題点があった。
[問題点を解決するための手段] 本発明は、輸液バッグ、ED用バッグ、抗生物質用バッ
グ、その他のピギーバッグ等として好適な医療用容器を
提供することを目的とするが、本発明者等は、医療用容
器の形状および製法について各種検討を行った結果、熱
可塑性樹脂製の口元部と容器部が面接着され、該接着面
には、強磁性体である発熱部材が該容器部の内側に露出
せず埋設されており、その周辺で口元部と容器部の樹脂
が直接溶着されて液密状態が保持されている容器であっ
て、該接着が、該口元部と容器部の間に該発熱部材を挟
持し、該容器の外側から非磁性体の圧縮治具で押圧しな
がら該発熱部材を高周波誘導加熱により発熱させて該発
熱部材周辺の樹脂を溶融させることにより達成されてい
ることを特徴とするクローズドシステム用の医療用容器
により、液密に確実に溶着され、仕上がりの綺麗な口元
部を有する良好な医療用容器を提供することができ、ま
た、その製造方法として、熱可塑性樹脂製の口元部と容
器部を製作し、該口元部と該容器部の接着面間に強磁性
体の発熱部材を位置させ、該容器部の該接着面の外周を
非磁性体の圧圧縮治具で押圧し、高周波誘導加熱により
前記発熱部材を発熱させることにより、該発熱部材が該
容器の内側に露出しないように、その周辺の前記口元部
と前記容器部の樹脂を溶着させて液密状態とすることを
特徴とするクローズドシステム用の医療用容器の製造方
法により、前述した液密に溶着され、仕上がりの綺麗な
口元部を有する良好な医療用容器を容易にかつ確実に製
造することができることを見出し、本発明に至ったもの
である。
[作用] 本発明者らは、高周波融着できない熱可塑性樹脂を、複
雑な形状あるいは肉厚のものでも容易に溶着でき、短い
冷却時間ですみ量産性に富み、しかも仕上がり状態が奇
麗な溶着方法を開発すべく種々検討した結果、熱可塑性
樹脂の接着面の少なくとも一部に、強磁性体の発熱部材
を設置し、外部より高周波誘導加熱により、前記発熱部
材を誘導加熱し発熱させ、前記発熱部材の周辺の熱可塑
性樹脂を溶融せ溶着することにより、複雑な形状あるい
は肉厚の異なるものでも容易に溶着でき、短い冷却時間
ですみ量産性に富み、しかも仕上がり状態が奇麗である
ことを見い出し本発明を完成するに至った。
強磁性体の発熱部材を高周波磁界中に入れると、ヒステ
リシス損と過電流のジュール効果により効率的に発熱す
る。ヒステリシス損による発熱量P1は次式で示される。
ここで、I:コイル電流、d:コイルとの距離、μ:有効透
磁率、r:固有抵抗、f:周波数である。
また、過電流のジュール効果による発熱量P2は次式で示
される。
ここで、K:比定数、N:コイルの巻数、ρ:電気比抵抗で
ある。式(1)及び式(2)から明らかなように、ヒス
テリシス損による発熱量P1に比して過電流のジュール効
果による発熱量P2のほうが遥かに大きな値である。それ
ゆえ、有効透磁率μの値が大きいすなわち強磁性体ほど
発熱量は多く、被溶着材料である熱可塑性樹脂を充分に
溶融させ溶着することができる。
高周波融着できない熱可塑性樹脂とは、誘電損失の値が
小さいものであり、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン等の
ポリオレフィン系樹脂、熱可塑性ポリウレタン等が挙げ
られる。これら高周波融着できない熱可塑性樹脂の溶着
したい面と面の間の一部分に設置する発熱部材として
は、強磁性体である鉄、フェライト、ステンレス、アル
ミニウム等の導体およびこれらの導体の粉体と熱可塑性
樹脂の混合物等が挙げられる。
高周波誘導加熱により、医療用容器の口元部と容器部を
溶着する場合、口元部と容器部の溶着面間に発熱部材を
設置し、磁界中で発熱部材を発熱させ、口元部と容器部
の接着面側の樹脂を溶融させて接着する。このとき、口
元部と容器部において、発熱部材の周辺の樹脂を溶融さ
せて接着させることが重要である。すなわち、口元部と
容器部の溶融した樹脂同士の接触させ、口元部と容器部
を接着することにより、大きな接着力を得ることができ
る。さらに、発熱部材は、口元部と容器部を構成してい
る樹脂によって、完全に覆われるため、用いた発熱部材
が医療用容器内の薬剤等に影響を与えることがない。
また、本発明の医療用容器は、口元部材と容器部材の溶
着部は溶着面側が溶融して溶着されるので、内部発熱を
利用したポリ塩化ビニル樹脂を高周波融着で溶着するの
と同様に、溶着が完全であり奇麗にしあがる。
[実施例] 以下図面に基づいて、本発明の方法をさらに詳しく説明
する。
第1図に柔軟な医療用容器1を示す。医療用容器1は、
口元部2と容器部3から構成される。口元部2は、高密
度ポリエチレンで射出成形法により形成される。容器部
3は、直鎖状低密度ポリエチレンでインフレーション成
形法によって得られるチューブ状シートの両端開放端を
溶着することによって得たものである。また、押出し成
形によって得られたシート二枚を重ね合わせ、その周縁
部を溶着することによっても得ることができる。容器部
3の下端部5は通常のヒートシールで溶着され懸垂口6
が設けられている。口元部2は、容器部3の上端部4で
本発明の方法によって溶着されている。口元部2と上端
部4の溶着方法の詳細を第2図に示す。発熱部材(以
下、「発熱材料」という)7としてステンレスメッシュ
を用い、口元部2を外周面にそのステンレスメッシュを
設置する。ステンレスメッシュを設置した口元部2を上
端部4に挿入し、外側から圧縮用治具8で加圧しながら
高周波磁界中に入れると、ステンレスメッシュが発熱
し、その周辺の上端部4の直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン及
び口元部2の高密度ポリエチレンが溶融しステンレスメ
ッシュの周辺及びステンレスメッシュの網目の開口部に
おいて互いに溶融接触し溶着される。このとき、ステン
レスメッシュは上端部4の直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン及
び口元部2の高密度ポリエチレンの溶融した樹脂によっ
て完全に覆われる。高周波磁界は、誘導コイル9に高周
波電流を流すことによって得られる。使用される高周波
は400kHz〜4MHzのものが一般的である。
溶着された口元部2の断面図を第3図にしめす。高密度
ポリエチレン製の口元部2と直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン
製の上端部4のステンレスメッシュの周辺及びステンレ
スメッシュの網目の開口部において、それぞれ液密に溶
着されている。第3図に示した実施例では、口元部2と
上端部4の溶着部以外の上端部4の溶着は、通常のヒー
トシールで行っているが、この上端部4においてもステ
ンレスメッシュを狭持し本発明の溶着方法を用いて溶着
してもよい。
発熱材料の構造として、実施例では第4図に示す網目構
造体を挙げたが、第5図に示す帯状のものでも良いし、
第6図に示す線状のものを数本組み合わせたものでも良
いし、第7図に示すリング状のものの側部に翼が付いた
形状のものでも良い。なかでも、第7図に示すような翼
付きリング状のものが好ましい。すなわち、医療用容器
の口元部と容器部の接着において、曲面接着と平面接着
の境目をより確実に接着できるからである。いずれにし
ても、溶着したい熱可塑性樹脂の溶着面の面積よりも小
さい面積の発熱材料を用いることが必要である。
また、第8図に、本発明による医療用容器の他の製造方
法を示す。発熱材料87としてステンレスメッシュ製リン
グを用い、口元部82の外周面にそのステンレスメッシュ
製リングを設置し、医療用容器の上端部84に挿入する。
次に、セラミックス製圧縮治具88で、上端部84の外周か
ら加圧する。セラミックス製圧縮治具88の内部には、誘
導コイル89が内蔵されており、この誘導コイル89に高周
波電流を流すことによって、発熱材料87が加熱される。
このとき、圧縮用治具88は非磁性体であるので発熱する
ことなく、発熱材料87の周辺の樹脂だけが加熱溶融され
て、口元部82と上端部84が接着される。
次に、第9図に、本発明による医療用容器のさらに別の
製造方法を示す。発熱材料97として、翼付きステンレス
メッシュ製リングを用い、口元部92の外周面にその翼付
きステンレスメッシュ製リングを設置し、医療用容器の
上端部94に挿入する。次に、誘導コイル99の内側で、セ
ラミックス製圧縮用治具98を用いて、上端部94の外側か
ら加圧する。誘導コイル99に高周波電流を流すことによ
って、誘導コイル99の内側に磁界を発生させることによ
って、発熱材料97を発熱させ、発熱材料97の周辺の樹脂
が溶融されて、口元部92と上端部94が接着する。
第8図、第9図に示したように、円筒状の発熱材料の外
側に、発熱材料からなるべく等距離に位置するように誘
導コイルを設置することが好ましい。すなわち、発熱材
料の周囲の磁界の強さを均一にすることにより、発熱材
料が均一に発熱し、口元部と上端部を確実に溶着するこ
とができる。特に、口元部に比べ、容器の上端部の壁の
厚みが薄いので、発熱の大きな箇所はピンホールが発生
しやすく、発熱の小さな箇所は充分に溶着しないからで
ある。
また、誘導コイルに高周波電流を、パルス的に流すこと
が好ましい。パルス的に高周波電流を流すことにより、
発熱材料の周囲の樹脂を加圧状態で徐々に溶融させて接
着することができるので、肉厚の大きな口元部と肉薄の
上端部を確実に接着することができるからである。
この医療用容器1は、輸液等の薬液を封入し、高圧蒸気
滅菌により滅菌される。あるいは、この医療用容器1
は、エチレンオキサイドガス(EOG)滅菌され、その
後、EDや抗生物質等の粉末あるいはEDや抗生物質等を溶
かした薬液を無菌的に入れ口元部2を封入する。
実験例1 直鎖状低密度ポリエチレンをインフレーション成形し、
折径130mm、肉厚0.25mmのチューブ状シートを得た。こ
のチューブ状シートを長さ250mmに切断した。一方、高
密度ポリエチレンで所定の形状の口元部材を第7図に示
すような形状に、ステンレスメッシュとともにインサー
ト成形により得た。チューブ状シートの一端(低部)を
ヒートシール法により熱溶着した。次に、他端(上端
部)に前記口元部材を挿入した。口元部材の内径部に非
磁性のセラミック製の支持体を挿入し、外側から非磁性
のセラミック製の圧縮用治具で加圧し、高周波磁界中に
入れるとステンレスメッシュが発熱し、ステンレスメッ
シュの周辺の口元部材とチューブ状シートの溶着面が溶
融し、口元部材とチューブ状シートが互いに接着され
た。次に、チューブ状シートの上端部の残りの非接着部
分をヒートシール法により熱溶着して容器を作製し、こ
の容器を輸液容器とした。
このようにして作製された輸液容器に水520mlを注入
し、口元部の開口端を直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン製フィ
ルムで密封しゴム栓を装着した。
この輸液容器を115℃で40分間高圧蒸気滅菌をしたが、
滅菌後著しい変形および内容液の漏出は見られなかっ
た。
[発明の効果] 以上述べた本発明の溶着方法は、以下に示す利点を有す
る。
医療用容器の素材を限定することなく、例えば誘電損失
の値が小さい高周波融着出来ないポリオレフィン系樹脂
等を用いて、好適な医療用容器を提供することができ
る。また、本発明による医療用容器は、口元部と容器部
の接着は、接着面で互いの樹脂が溶融して接着されてい
るので、接着が完全にできる内容液の漏出の危険性が非
常に小さい。その上、発熱材料自体が、直接医療用容器
内の薬剤と直接接触することがないので安全である。さ
らに、本発明の製造方法は、製造コストが低いので経済
的である。

Claims (7)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項1】熱可塑性樹脂製の口元部と容器部が面接着
    され、該接着面には、強磁性体である発熱部材が該容器
    部の内側に露出せず埋設されており、その周辺で口元部
    と容器部の樹脂が直接溶着されて液密状態が保持されて
    いる容器であって、該接着が、該口元部と容器部の間に
    該発熱部材を挟持し、該容器の外側から非磁性体の圧縮
    治具で押圧しながら該発熱部材を高周波誘導加熱により
    発熱させて該発熱部材周辺の樹脂を溶融させることによ
    り達成されていることを特徴とするクローズドシステム
    用の医療用容器。
  2. 【請求項2】前記熱可塑性樹脂が、ポリオレフィン系樹
    脂であることを特徴とする特許請求の範囲第1項記載の
    医療用容器。
  3. 【請求項3】前記強磁性体である発熱部材が、鉄、フェ
    ライト、ステンレス、アルミニウムの内より選ばれた少
    なくとも1種以上である特許請求の範囲第1項または第
    2項記載の医療用容器。
  4. 【請求項4】前記発熱部材が、その側部に翼が付いた形
    状を有し、口元部と容器部の曲面接着と容器部同士の平
    面接着との境目に該翼を配置した特許請求の範囲第1項
    乃至第3項記載の医療用容器。
  5. 【請求項5】熱可塑性樹脂製の口元部と容器部を製作
    し、該口元部と該容器部の接着面間に強磁性体の発熱部
    材を位置させ、該容器部の該接着面の外周を非磁性体の
    圧縮治具で押圧し、高周波誘導加熱により前記発熱部材
    を発熱させることにより、該発熱部材が該容器の内側に
    露出しないように、その周辺の前記口元部と前記容器部
    の樹脂を溶着させて液密状態とすることを特徴とするク
    ローズドシステム用の医療用容器の製造方法。
  6. 【請求項6】前記高周波誘導加熱を、高周波電流をパル
    ス的に流すことにより行う特許請求の範囲第5項記載の
    医療用容器の製造方法。
  7. 【請求項7】前記高周波誘導加熱を、口元部と容器部の
    間に挟持した発熱部材から略等距離になるように設置し
    た高周波加熱用の誘導コイルにより行う特許請求の範囲
    第5項または第6項記載の医療用容器の製造方法。
