Abstract

(57)【要約】 【目的】筺体に収納可能な棒状アンテナが通話時に使用
者の側頭部に近づいて、電波が吸収されることにより実
質的なアンテナの利得が低下することを防止する。 【構成】携帯電話機の筺体１に収納可能な棒状アンテナ
２は受話部３を耳に当てて使用している際の上面４に取
り付けられている。そして棒状アンテナ２は破線で示す
ように筺体１内に収納した状態では、使用者の側頭部に
面した第１の面６からこれと対向する第２の面７に対し
て傾斜しており、棒状アンテナ２を引き出した状態では
実線で示すように棒状アンテナ２の先端部のエレメント
８が第１の面６から遠ざかるように取り付けられてい
る。

Description

【発明の詳細な説明】
【０００１】
【産業上の利用分野】本発明は携帯電話機に関し、特に
棒状アンテナが筺体内に収納可能な構造の携帯電話機に
関する。
【０００２】
【従来の技術】図３（ａ），（ｂ）は従来の携帯電話機
の第１，第２の例における使用状態を示す側面図であ
る。
【０００３】図３（ｂ）における携帯電話機の筺体１ｂ
の厚みは同図（ａ）に示す携帯電話機機の筺体１ａより
薄くなっている。
【０００４】例えば図３（ａ）において、棒状アンテナ
２ａは携帯電話機の筺体１ａを構成する面のうち、受話
部３を使用者が耳に当てて使用しているときに、棒状ア
ンテナ２ａの軸が使用者の側頭部に向き合う第１の面６
およびその外側でこれと対向する第２の面７に対し実質
的に平行に収納されていた。
【０００５】従って、棒状アンテナ２ａを引き出したと
きにも、このアンテナ２ａの先端部のエレメント８とこ
れら第１，第２の面６，７との間隔は実質的に一定であ
った。なお、図３（ｂ）においてもこの間隔は実質的に
一定である。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】携帯電話機の小型化が
進む中で、ポケットへの収納性などへの配慮から筺体の
薄型化が重要性を増している。
【０００７】一方、一般に携帯電話機が備えている棒状
アンテナは、図３に示すように、受話部３を耳に当てた
ときの上面に引き出されるため、図３（ａ）に示す第１
の例と同図（ｂ）に示す第２の例から分かるように筺体
が薄型になるほど、アンテナ先端のエレメントが使用者
の側頭部に、より近接することになる。
【０００８】人体の頭部は電波を吸収する性質があるの
で、アンテナエレメントが頭部に近づくほどこの影響を
受けやすくなり、実質的なアンテナ利得が低下する。
【０００９】従って、この従来の携帯電話機の構造で
は、携帯電話機を利用できるエリアが狭くなったり、ま
た、携帯電話機に着信があって受話部を耳に当てた瞬間
に回線が断となることもあるという問題点があった。

【課題を解決するための手段】本発明の携帯電話機は、
少なくとも筺体に収納可能な棒状アンテナと、受話部と
を備える携帯電話機において、前記棒状アンテナは前記
筺体を構成する面のうち前記受話部を耳に当てて通話す
る時に使用者の側頭部に向き合う第１の面およびその外
側でこれと対向する第２の面に対し傾斜して収納され、
かつ前記棒状アンテナを前記筺体から引き出した時にこ
の棒状アンテナの先端部が前記第１の面から遠ざかるよ
うに取り付けられていることを特徴とする。
【００１１】また、前記棒状アンテナは多段構成をな
し、前記筺体からの引き延ばし量が多いほどこの棒状ア
ンテナの先端部が前記第１の面からより多く遠ざかるこ
とを特徴とする。

【実施例】次に、本発明について図面を参照して説明す
る。図１は本発明の携帯電話機の第１の実施例を示す側
面図である。
【００１３】携帯電話機の筺体１に収納可能な棒状アン
テナ２は受話部３を耳に当てて使用している際の上面４
に取り付けられている。そして棒状アンテナ２は破線で
示すように筺体１内に収納した状態では、使用者の側頭
部に面した第１の面６およびその外側でこれと対向する
第２の面７に対し傾斜しており、棒状アンテナ２を引き
出した状態では実線で示すように棒状アンテナ２の先端
部のエレメント８が第１の面６から遠ざかるように取り
付けられている。
【００１４】つまり、この使用中の状態では、エレメン
ト８が使用者の側頭部から遠ざかるので、使用者の頭部
によるアンテナ２の利得低下を小さく抑えることができ
る。なお、筺体１の下部には送話部５がある。
【００１５】次に図２は本発明の携帯電話機の第２の実
施例を示す側面図である。
【００１６】筺体１０が折り畳み構造を持ち、かつ棒状
アンテナ２０が２段に収縮する例を示している。そして
使用するときは、送話部５が使用者の口の近傍に来るよ
うに筺体１０を延ばして図示の状態にする。
【００１７】本実施例のその他の構造は第１の実施例と
同様であり、従って第１の実施例と同等の効果を有す
る。そして、使用しないときに第１の実施例の携帯電話
機より小型になる利点がある。

【発明の効果】以上説明したように本発明の携帯電話機
は、収納可能な棒状アンテナを筺体に斜めに収納し、こ
れを引き出したときに棒状アンテナ先端のエレメントが
使用者の側頭部から遠ざかるようにしたので、使用者の
頭部による電波吸収の影響が少なく抑えられ、アンテナ
の実質的な利得を高く保ったまま通話をすることができ
る。
【００１９】従って、従来の携帯電話機に比較してその
利用可能エリアが拡大されるという効果を有する。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】 少なくとも筺体に収納可能な棒状アンテ
    ナと、受話部とを備える携帯電話機において、前記棒状
    アンテナは前記筺体を構成する面のうち前記受話部を耳
    に当てて通話する時に使用者の側頭部に向き合う第１の
    面およびその外側でこれと対向する第２の面に対し傾斜
    して収納され、かつ前記棒状アンテナを前記筺体から引
    き出した時にこの棒状アンテナの先端部が前記第１の面
    から遠ざかるように取り付けられていることを特徴とす
    る携帯電話機。
  2. 【請求項２】 前記棒状アンテナは多段構成をなし、前
    記筺体からの引き延ばし量が多いほどこの棒状アンテナ
    の先端部が前記第１の面からより多く遠ざかることを特
    徴とする請求項１記載の携帯電話機。
