【発明の詳細な説明】

【産業上の利用分野】本発明は、冷蔵庫の扉にドアに関
し、特に、２枚もしくはそれ以上のガラスパネルを備え
、ドアの周縁を囲む外枠をドアの内面に設けて、ドアの
外面を覆わないようにした冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ドア
に関する。
【０００２】
【従来の技術】現在、市販されている冷蔵庫のガラス製
ドアは、通常、ドアのガラスパネルの周縁に沿って、外
枠を設けている。このドアの外枠は、ガラスパネルを所
定位置に保持するために、ドアのガラスの内外両面の周
縁を囲んでいる。
【０００３】この種のドア外枠は、例えば、アメリカ合
衆国特許第４，６９６，０７８号明細書（１９８７年９
月２９日発行）、同第４，６７１，５８２号明細書（１
９８７年６月９日発行）、同第４，２２３，４８２号明
細書（１９８０年９月２３日発行）、同第３，３３９，
２２５号明細書（１９６７年９月５日発行）及び同第３
，３３１，１５９号明細書（１９６７年７月１８日発行
）などに開示されている。
【０００４】
【発明が解決しようとする課題】これらの従来の冷蔵庫
のガラス製ドアは、ドアの外面側から外枠が見えるので
、ドアの外観が見苦しくなっている。
【０００５】本発明の目的は、ドアの外枠を、外面側の
ガラスパネルの表面に現われないようにして、より魅力
的で好ましい形状の冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ドアを提供
することである。
【０００６】本発明の他の目的は、構成が簡単で、安価
に製造できる冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ドアを提供するこ
とである。
【０００７】さらに本発明の他の目的は、２枚もしくは
それ以上の枚数のガラスパネルで構成した冷蔵庫のレー
ルなし展示ドアを提供することである。
【０００８】
【課題を解決するための手段】上記の各目的を達成する
ために、本発明は、次のとおりに構成されている。
【０００９】外側ガラスパネル（１４）及び内側ガラス
パネル（２４）と、両ガラスパネルの間に設けられ、両
ガラスパネルの周縁に沿って延びる中空のスペーサ（７
０）と、両ガラスパネルの間に設けられ、両ガラスパネ
ルの周縁を囲んで延びる構造部材（３４）と、両ガラス
パネルの周縁端を囲んで延びるドア外枠（４２）と、両
ガラスパネルの間に設けられ、両ガラスパネル、スペー
サ、構造部材及びドア外枠を一体的に保持する封止材（
３２）とを備える冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ドア。
【００１０】外側ガラスパネル（１４）、中間ガラスパ
ネル（２２）及び内側ガラスパネル（２４）と、外側ガ
ラスパネル（１４）と中間ガラスパネル（２２）との間
に設けた中空のスペーサ（２６）と、中間ガラスパネル
（２２）と内側ガラスパネル（２４）との間に設けた中
空のスペーサ（２６）と、内側ガラスパネルと外側ガラ
スパネルとの間に設けられ、内側及び外側ガラスパネル
の外周縁を囲んで延びる構造部材（７４）と、内側ガラ
スパネル及び外側ガラスパネルの外周縁を囲んで延びる
ドア外枠（７２）と、内側ガラスパネルと外側ガラスパ
ネルとの間に設けられ、スペーサ、構造部材、外側、中
間、内側ガラスパネル、及びドア外枠を一体的に保持す
る封止材（３２）とを備える冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ド
ア。
【００１１】外側ガラスパネル（１４）及び内側ガラス
パネル（２４）と、両ガラスパネルの間に設けられ、両
ガラスパネルの外周縁端を囲んで延びる中空のスペーサ
（７０）と、両ガラスパネルの間に設けた構造部材（３
４）と、構造部材に設けられ、内側ガラスパネルと外側
ガラスパネルとの間の冷気の伝導を減少させる断熱手段
（３８）と、各ガラスパネルの外周縁を囲んで延びるド
ア外枠（４２）と、両ガラスパネルの間に設けられ、両
ガラスパネル、スペーサ、構造部材、及びドア外枠を一
体的に保持する封止材（３２）とを備える冷蔵庫のレー
ルなし展示ドア。
【００１２】構造部材（３４）に、外側と内側のガラス
パネル（１４）（２４）の間の冷気の伝導を減少させる
ゴム製等の断熱手段（３８）を取付けることが望ましい
。
【００１３】ドア外枠（４２）（７２）が、外側と内側
のガラスパネル（１４）（２４）の外周縁端に係合し、
内側ガラスパネル（２４）の内面周縁を覆うようにする
ことが望ましい。
【００１４】中空のスペーサ（２６）（７０）には、乾
燥剤（３０）を充填してあることが望ましい。
【００１５】スペーサ（２６）（７０）と各ガラスパネ
ル（１４）（２２）（２４）との間に、ゴム断熱板（２
８）を設置することが望ましい。
【００１６】封止材（３２）は、熱溶着性封止材を使用
することが望ましい。
【００１７】
【作用】２枚又はそれ以上の枚数のガラスパネル（１４
）（２２）（２４）を、スペーサ（２６）（７０）を挾
んで重畳し、管状又はＣ形断面の構造部材（３４）（７
４）を、外側と内側のガラスパネル（１４）（２４）の
周縁の間に、かつ、中間ガラスパネル（２２）がある場
合には、その外周縁を囲んで設け、ドア外枠（４２）（
７２）を内外のガラスパネル（１４）（２４）の外周縁
を囲み、かつ、内側ガラスパネル（２４）の内面周縁を
覆うが、外側ガラスパネル（１４）の外面を覆わないよ
うに設け、熱溶着性の封止材（３２）により、各ガラス
パネル（１４）（２２）（２４）、スペーサ（２６）（
７０）、構造部材（３４）（７４）及びドア外枠（４２
）（７２）を一体的に接合することにより、ボルトやナ
ット等の機械的結合手段を使用せずに、冷蔵庫のレール
なし展示ドアを構成する。

【実施例】以下、本発明を図示の実施例に基づいて説明
するが、これらの実施例は、発明者が最適の市場性を持
つと考えるものを示したものであり、発明の本質を逸脱
しない範囲での変形応用を含むものである。
【００１９】図１は、本発明による冷蔵庫のレールなし
展示ドア（１０）を、２組並列させて、キャビネット等
の支持構造材（１２）に装着した正面図である。展示ド
ア（１０）は、ガラスパネル（１４）を備え、スーパー
マーケットの顧客などが、冷蔵庫内に収容してある冷凍
食品などを、パネル（１４）を通して視認できるように
してある。ただし、本発明の展示ドア（１０）は、ドア
の内部が冷蔵室である場合に限定されるものではない。
【００２０】各レールなし展示ドア（１０）の右上隅に
、１個の蝶番装置（１６）を設け、１本の捩じりロッド
（１８）を、ドア（１０）の右下隅の近くの支持構造材
（１２）に取付けた調節可能な支台（２０）に装着して
ある。
【００２１】図２、及び図２の４−４線における断面を
示す図４は、蝶番装置（１６）の詳細を示す図である。 この蝶番装置（１６）は、アメリカ合衆国特許第４，６
７１，５８２号明細書（１９８７年６月９日発行）に記
載されたものに準じたものである。ただし、図２及び図
４に示した蝶番装置（１６）に代えて、他の適当な蝶番
装置を適用してもよい。
【００２２】図３は、捩じりロッド（１８）を、各展示
ドア（１０）の右下隅の支台（２０）に装着する要領を
示す断面図である。捩じりロッド（１８）及び調節可能
な支台（２０）は、アメリカ合衆国特許第４，６９６，
０７８号明細書（１９８７年９月２９日発行）に記載さ
れたものに準じて構成してあるが、他の型式の捩じりロ
ッドと支台とを使用してもよい。例えば、捩じりロッド
（１８）を支持構造材（１２）内に設けた透孔に装着す
るようにしてもよい。
【００２３】図４、及び図４の５−５線における断面を
示す図５には、外側、中間及び内側のガラスパネル（１
４）（２２）及び（２４）を使用した冷蔵庫のレールな
し展示ドア（１０）を示してある。各パネルは、好まし
くはアルミニウムなどの金属製の２個の中空スペーサ（
２６）により、間隔をあけて取付けてある。ただし、ス
ペーサ（２６）は、金属製に限らず、どのような材質の
ものでもよい。各中空スペーサ（２６）は、図４に示す
ようにドア（１０）の周縁に沿って、長方形の枠状に形
成してある。
【００２４】中空スペーサ（２６）には、図５に示すよ
うに乾燥剤（３０）を充填しておくのが望ましい。乾燥
剤（３０）は、どんなものを使用してもよい。スペーサ
（２６）とガラスパネル（１４）（２２）（２４）との
間には、図５に示すように、ゴム製あるいはネオプレン
やビニールなどの合成樹脂製の断熱板（２８）を挟着し
てある。
【００２５】外面と内面のガラスパネル（１４）と（２
４）との間には、図５に示すように、展示ドア（１４）
の各側縁に沿って、４個の中空の管状部材（３４）を設
けてある。図４には、１個の管状部材（３４）をドア（
１０）の上縁に沿って延び、他の管状部材（３４）をド
ア（１０）の右側縁に沿って延びた状態を示してある。 同様に、別の管状部材（３４）を、ドア（１０）の左側
縁及び下縁に沿って延ばしてある。管状部材（３４）は
、アルミニウム製とするのが望ましいが、他の材料を使
用してもよい。
【００２６】同じく図５に示すように、各管状部材（３
４）には、平面部（３６）と張出し縁（３７）とを設け
てある。各管状部材（３４）とガラスパネル（１４）及
び（２４）との間には、図５に示すように、ゴムあるい
はネオプレンの断熱板（３８）を挟着してある。図４で
は、水平側の管状部材（３４）の端部（３９）を、垂直
側の管状部材（３４）の平面部（３６）に当接させてあ
る。
【００２７】図４及び図５に示すように、管状部材（３
４）と中空のスペーサ（２６）との間、及び管状部材（
３４）とガラスパネル（１４）及び（２４）との間の隙
間に、封止材（３２）を配置してある。封止材（３２）
は、管状部材（３４）、スペーサ（２６）及びガラスパ
ネル（１４）（２２）（２４）に接着されて、ガラスパ
ネル（１４）（２２）（２４）を取付け位置に保持する
ようにしてある。好ましくは、封止材（３２）は、ポリ
サルファイドあるいはポリウレタンを使用する。ただし
、上記のように硬化され接着できるものであれば、どの
ような熱硬化性の封止材を使用してもよい。
【００２８】冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ドア（１０）には
、ドア（１０）の周縁を囲む外枠（４２）を設けてある
。外枠（４２）は、ほぼ長方形の枠に形成してある。図
２、図３及び図５に示すように、外枠（４２）は、内側
のガラスパネル（２４）の内面に当接又はそれを被覆し
、外側のガラスパネル（１４）の外面を覆わないように
設けてある。冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ドア（１０）を、
より魅力的に、あるいはより好ましくするために、展示
ドア（１０）の前面あるいは外面、もしくはドア構造材
（１０）の側面には、外枠（４２）の表面が少ししか現
われないようにしてある。必要に応じて、外面に現われ
る外枠（４２）の小面積の部分を、図７に示す湾曲面（
５０）のように丸めてもよい。
【００２９】ドア外枠（４２）は、内面部（４７）と側
面部（４９）とで、ほぼＶ字状の断面をなしている。側
面部（４９）には、外枠（４２）の内周に沿って延びる
突出材（５２）を形成して、管状部材（３４）の溝ある
いは開口（５４）に係合又ははめこんであり、図５に示
すように、ガラスパネル（１４）と（２４）との周縁を
それぞれ側面部（４９）に当接させて、ガラスパネル（
１４）と（２４）とを外枠（４２）に対して位置決めす
るようにしてある。この構成により、冷蔵庫のレールな
し展示ドア（１０）を、ナット、ボルトないしねじなど
の機械的な結合部品を使用せずに、一体に保持すること
ができる。
【００３０】冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ドア（１０）に、
図６に示すようにハンドル（６０）を取付けることがで
きる。図２から図４に示すように、外枠（４２）には、
右上隅に蝶番（１６）用の透孔（６２）を、右下隅に捩
じりロッド（１８）用の透孔（６４）を設けてある。ハ
ンドル（６０）及び透孔（６２）（６４）は、必要に応
じて、ドアの左側あるいは右側のどちらにでも設けるこ
とができる。
【００３１】図２には、ドア（１０）を閉止位置に保持
するための、マグネット（６８）を内臓したドアパッキ
ング（６６）を外枠（４２）に取付けた状態を示してあ
る。図５には、管状部材（３４）に接触する位置にワイ
ヤ（４０）を取付けて、封止材（３２）を所定位置に保
持する状態を示してある。
【００３２】図７は、冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ドア（１
０）の他の実施例を示す部分断面図である。この実施例
は、ガラスパネルを（１４）及び（２４）の２枚のみ使
用し、乾燥剤（３０）を充填した中空の周縁スペーサ（
７０）を１列のみ使用したものである。封止材（３２）
は、ガラスパネル（１４）（２４）、スペーサ（７０）
及び管状部材（３４）に、一体的に接着してある。
【００３３】図１、図３、図５及び図７に示すように、
ガラスパネル（１４）（２４）の内面（２１）（２３）
の周縁（５６）（５８）に近い境界（５９）を、それぞ
れ、塗料（あるいはその他の被覆剤）で塗装してある。 塗装した境界（５９）は、管状部材（３４）及びスペー
サ（２６）（７０）を隠して、ドア（１０）の外観をよ
りきれいに見せる。
【００３４】図８は、冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ドア（１
０）の他の実施例を示す断面図である。この実施例は、
３枚のガラスパネル（１４）（２２）（２４）、好まし
くは乾燥剤（３０）を充填した２個の中空スペーサ（２
６）、及び絶縁材（２８）を使用するものである。ただ
し、必要に応じて、図７に準じて、２枚だけのガラスパ
ネル（１４）（２４）を使用するようにしてもよい。（
８８）は第２図におけるパッキング（６６）と同様のパ
ッキングであり、（９０）はそれを収容する開口である
。
【００３５】ドア外枠（７２）は、前記実施例とは異な
る形状で、２個の周縁延伸部（７６）（７８）を備えて
いる。また、図５及び図７における管状部材（３４）に
代えて、Ｃ形断面部材（７４）を用いている。封止材（
３２）は、ガラスパネル（１４）（２２）（２４）、ス
ペーサ（２６）、ドア外枠（７２）及びＣ形断面部材（
７４）に接着してある。ドア外枠（７２）の突出材（７
６）と（７８）とは、外枠（７２）とその他の部材とを
確実に接合するために、封止材（３２）の中に突出させ
てある。この構成により、図５や図７に示した、溝（５
４）にはめこむ突出材（５２）を設ける必要がなくなる
。
【００３６】Ｃ形断面部材（７４）は、アルミニウム等
の金属材料を押出し加工をして形成するのが望ましい。 ただし、アルミニウム以外の金属やファイバーガラスな
どの強化樹脂を使用してもよい。また、部材（７４）を
、押出し加工の他、成型加工、鋳造、機械加工等の手段
で製作してもよい。Ｃ形断面部材（７４）には、ゴム、
ネオプレンなどのプラスチックス、あるいはビニール製
の断熱緩衝器（８０）を取付けてある。断熱緩衝器（８
０）は、Ｃ形断面部材（７４）の長手方向に沿って延ば
すのが望ましい。断熱緩衝器（８０）は、内面パネル（
２４）から外面パネル（１４）への冷気の伝導を減少さ
せるとともに、Ｃ形断面部材（７４）とガラスパネルと
の接触を緩衝する。
【００３７】ドア外枠（４２）及び（７２）は、金属、
ファイバーガラス、プラスチックスなどの適宜の材料で
製造すればよい。ドア外枠の材質には、ケイソール社製
のケイソール１１０１−００５番ビニールなどのクリア
ベース樹脂を適用するのが望ましい。可撓性の突出部（
８２）（８４）（８６）が、複列押出し加工によってド
ア外枠（７２）に熱溶着されており、外枠（７２）がガ
ラスパネル（１４）及び（２４）の端面及びガラスパネ
ル（２４）の内面に対して当接する部分の緩衝材ないし
台座として作用する。突出部（８２）（８４）（８６）
は、好ましくはショア硬度３５〜６０の塩化ビニール添
加の熱可塑性弾性プラスチック材料を使用する。ただし
、その他のプラスチック又はその他の柔軟な（弾性）材
料を使用してもよい。
【００３８】以上、好ましい実施例に基づいて本発明を
説明したが、本発明は、上述内容に限定されるものでは
なく、各種の変形応用を含むものである。すなわち、本
発明は、発明の本質を逸脱しない範囲で、上述実施例の
形状及び細部を変更し得るものである。

【発明の効果】（ａ）　　所要間隔で重ねた２枚又はそ
れ以上のガラスパネル（１４）（２２）（２４）を、ボ
ルトやナット等の機械的な結合手段を使用せずに、封止
材（３２）によって、スペーサ（２６）（７０）、構造
部材（３４）（７４）、ドア外枠（４２）（７２）と一
体的に結合することにより、冷蔵庫の展示ドアを、容易
かつ安価に製造することができる。
【００４０】（ｂ）　　ドア外枠（４２）（７２）が、
ドアの外面に現われる部分を小さくしてあるので、外観
の見栄えがよい。
【００４１】（ｃ）　　スペーサ（２６）（７０）及び
構造部材（３４）（７４）と各ガラスパネルとの間に、
ゴム等の断熱材を設けて、内外のガラスパネルの間の冷
気の伝導を減少させてあるため、保冷効果が高い。
【００４２】（ｄ）　　スペーサ（２６）（７０）を中
空として、乾燥剤（３０）を充填することにより、各ガ
ラスパネルの間の湿気を除去して曇りを防止し、展示効
果を向上させることができる。
【００４３】（ｅ）　　レールなし展示ドアとするため

Claims (20)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】　　外側ガラスパネル及び内側ガラスパネ
    ルと、両ガラスパネルの間に設けられ、両ガラスパネル
    の周縁に沿って延びる中空のスペーサと、両ガラスパネ
    ルの間に設けられ、両ガラスパネルの周縁を囲んで延び
    る構造部材と、両ガラスパネルの周縁端を囲んで延びる
    ドア外枠と、両ガラスパネルの間に設けられ、両ガラス
    パネル、スペーサ、構造部材及びドア外枠を一体的に保
    持する封止材とを備えてなる冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ド
    ア。
  2. 【請求項２】　　構造部材に、両ガラスパネル間の冷気
    の伝導を減少させるための断熱手段を取付けてなる請求
    項１記載の冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ドア。
  3. 【請求項３】　　ドア外枠が、両ガラスパネルの外周縁
    端に係合し、内側ガラスパネルの内面周縁を覆うように
    してなる請求項１記載の冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ドア。
  4. 【請求項４】　　中空のスペーサに、乾燥剤を充填して
    なる請求項１記載の冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ドア。
  5. 【請求項５】　　スペーサと両ガラスパネルとの間に、
    ゴム断熱板を設置してなる請求項１記載の冷蔵庫のレー
    ルなし展示ドア。
  6. 【請求項６】　　封止材が、熱溶着性の封止材である請
    求項１記載の冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ドア。
  7. 【請求項７】　　断熱手段がゴムである請求項２記載の
    冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ドア。
  8. 【請求項８】　　外側ガラスパネル、中間ガラスパネル
    及び内側ガラスパネルと、外側ガラスパネルと中間ガラ
    スパネルとの間に設けた中空のスペーサと、中間ガラス
    パネルと内側ガラスパネルとの間に設けた中空のスペー
    サと、内側ガラスパネルと外側ガラスパネルとの間に設
    けられ、内側及び外側ガラスパネルの外周縁を囲んで延
    びる構造部材と、内側ガラスパネル及び外側ガラスパネ
    ルの外周縁を囲んで延びるドア外枠と、内側ガラスパネ
    ルと外側ガラスパネルとの間に設けられ、スペーサ、構
    造部材、外側、中間、内側ガラスパネル、及びドア外枠
    を一体的に保持する封止材とを備える冷蔵庫のレールな
    し展示ドア。
  9. 【請求項９】　　構造部材の内周縁に、封止材の中に延
    びる突出部を設けた請求項８記載の冷蔵庫のレールなし
    展示ドア。
  10. 【請求項１０】　　ドア外枠が、内側ガラスパネルの内
    面周縁に係合して、内側ガラスパネルの内面周縁を覆う
    ようにしてなる請求項８記載の冷蔵庫のレールなし展示
    ドア。
  11. 【請求項１１】　　各スペーサに、乾燥剤を充填してな
    る請求項８記載の冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ドア。
  12. 【請求項１２】　　各スペーサと各ガラスパネルとの間
    に、ゴム断熱板を設けてなる請求項８記載の冷蔵庫のレ
    ールなし展示ドア。
  13. 【請求項１３】　　封止材が、熱溶着性封止材である請
    求項８記載の冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ドア。
  14. 【請求項１４】　　構造部材に、内側ガラスパネルと外
    側ガラスパネルとの間の冷気の伝導を減少させる断熱手
    段を設けてなる請求項８記載の冷蔵庫のレールなし展示
    ドア。
  15. 【請求項１５】　　外側ガラスパネル及び内側ガラスパ
    ネルと、両ガラスパネルの間に設けられ、両ガラスパネ
    ルの外周縁端を囲んで延びる中空のスペーサと、両ガラ
    スパネルの間に設けた構造部材と、構造部材に設けられ
    、内側ガラスパネルと外側ガラスパネルとの間の冷気の
    伝導を減少させる断熱手段と、各ガラスパネルの外周縁
    を囲んで延びるドア外枠と、両ガラスパネルの間に設け
    られ、両ガラスパネル、スペーサ、構造部材、及びドア
    外枠を一体的に保持する封止材とを備えてなる冷蔵庫の
    レールなし展示ドア。
  16. 【請求項１６】　　ドア外枠が、両ガラスパネルの外周
    縁端に係合し、内側ガラスパネルの内面側周縁部を覆う
