【発明の詳細な説明】
【０００１】
【産業上の利用分野】本発明は、冷蔵庫の扉にドアに関
し、特に、２枚もしくはそれ以上のガラスパネルを備
え、ドアの周縁を囲む外枠をドアの内面に設けて、ドア
の外面を覆わないようにした冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ド
アに関する。
【０００２】
【従来の技術】現在、市販されている冷蔵庫のガラス製
ドアは、通常、ドアのガラスパネルの周縁に沿って、外
枠を設けている。このドアの外枠は、ガラスパネルを所
定位置に保持するために、ドアのガラスの内外両面の周
縁を囲んでいる。
【０００３】この種のドア外枠は、例えば、アメリカ合
衆国特許第４，６９６，０７８号明細書（１９８７年９
月２９日発行）、同第４，６７１，５８２号明細書（１
９８７年６月９日発行）、同第４，２２３，４８２号明
細書（１９８０年９月２３日発行）、同第３，３３９，
２２５号明細書（１９６７年９月５日発行）及び同第
３，３３１，１５９号明細書（１９６７年７月１８日発
行）などに開示されている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】これらの従来の冷蔵庫
のガラス製ドアは、ドアの外面側から外枠が見えるの
で、ドアの外観が見苦しくなっている。
【０００５】本発明の目的は、ドアの外枠を、外面側の
ガラスパネルの表面に現われないようにして、より魅力
的で好ましい形状の冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ドアを提供
することである。
【０００６】本発明の他の目的は、構成が簡単で、安価
に製造できる冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ドアを提供するこ
とである。
【０００７】さらに本発明の他の目的は、２枚もしくは
それ以上の枚数のガラスパネルで構成した冷蔵庫のレー
ルなし展示ドアを提供することである。
【０００８】
【課題を解決するための手段】上記の各目的を達成する
ために、本発明は、次のとおりに構成されている。
【０００９】外側ガラスパネル(14)及び内側ガラスパネ
ル(24)と、両ガラスパネルの間に設けられ、両ガラスパ
ネルの周縁に沿って延びる中空のスペーサ(70)と、両ガ
ラスパネルの間に設けられ、両ガラスパネルの周縁を囲
んで延びる構造部材(34)と、両ガラスパネルの周縁端を
囲んで延びるドア外枠(42)と、両ガラスパネルの間に設
けられ、両ガラスパネル、スペーサ、構造部材及びドア
外枠を一体的に保持する封止材(32)とを備える冷蔵庫の
レールなし展示ドア。
【００１０】外側ガラスパネル(14)、中間ガラスパネル
(22)及び内側ガラスパネル(24)と、外側ガラスパネル(1
4)と中間ガラスパネル(22)との間に設けた中空のスペー
サ(26)と、中間ガラスパネル(22)と内側ガラスパネル(2
4)との間に設けた中空のスペーサ(26)と、内側ガラスパ
ネルと外側ガラスパネルとの間に設けられ、内側及び外
側ガラスパネルの外周縁を囲んで延びる構造部材(74)
と、内側ガラスパネル及び外側ガラスパネルの外周縁を
囲んで延びるドア外枠(72)と、内側ガラスパネルと外側
ガラスパネルとの間に設けられ、スペーサ、構造部材、
外側、中間、内側ガラスパネル、及びドア外枠を一体的
に保持する封止材(32)とを備える冷蔵庫のレールなし展
示ドア。
【００１１】外側ガラスパネル(14)及び内側ガラスパネ
ル(24)と、両ガラスパネルの間に設けられ、両ガラスパ
ネルの外周縁端を囲んで延びる中空のスペーサ(70)と、
両ガラスパネルの間に設けた構造部材(34)と、構造部材
に設けられ、内側ガラスパネルと外側ガラスパネルとの
間の冷気の伝導を減少させる断熱手段(38)と、各ガラス
パネルの外周縁を囲んで延びるドア外枠(42)と、両ガラ
スパネルの間に設けられ、両ガラスパネル、スペーサ、
構造部材、及びドア外枠を一体的に保持する封止材(32)
とを備える冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ドア。
【００１２】構造部材(34)に、外側と内側のガラスパネ
ル(14)(24)の間の冷気の伝導を減少させるゴム製等の断
熱手段(38)を取付けることが望ましい。
【００１３】ドア外枠(42)(72)が、外側と内側のガラス
パネル(14)(24)の外周縁端に係合し、内側ガラスパネル
(24)の内面周縁を覆うようにすることが望ましい。
【００１４】中空のスペーサ(26)(70)には、乾燥剤(30)
を充填してあることが望ましい。
【００１５】スペーサ(26)(70)と各ガラスパネル(14)(2
2)(24)との間に、ゴム断熱板(28)を設置することが望ま
しい。
【００１６】封止材(32)は、熱溶着性封止材を使用する
ことが望ましい。
【００１７】
【作用】２枚又はそれ以上の枚数のガラスパネル(14)(2
2)(24)を、スペーサ(26)(70)を挾んで重畳し、管状又は
Ｃ形断面の構造部材(34)(74)を、外側と内側のガラスパ
ネル(14)(24)の周縁の間に、かつ、中間ガラスパネル(2
2)がある場合には、その外周縁を囲んで設け、ドア外枠
(42)(72)を内外のガラスパネル(14)(24)の外周縁を囲
み、かつ、内側ガラスパネル(24)の内面周縁を覆うが、
外側ガラスパネル(14)の外面を覆わないように設け、熱
溶着性の封止材(32)により、各ガラスパネル(14)(22)(2
4)、スペーサ(26)(70)、構造部材(34)(74)及びドア外枠
(42)(72)を一体的に接合することにより、ボルトやナッ
ト等の機械的結合手段を使用せずに、冷蔵庫のレールな
し展示ドアを構成する。

【実施例】以下、本発明を図示の実施例に基づいて説明
するが、これらの実施例は、発明者が最適の市場性を持
つと考えるものを示したものであり、発明の本質を逸脱
しない範囲での変形応用を含むものである。
【００１９】図１は、本発明による冷蔵庫のレールなし
展示ドア(10)を、２組並列させて、キャビネット等の支
持構造材(12)に装着した正面図である。展示ドア(10)
は、ガラスパネル(14)を備え、スーパーマーケットの顧
客などが、冷蔵庫内に収容してある冷凍食品などを、パ
ネル(14)を通して視認できるようにしてある。ただし、
本発明の展示ドア(10)は、ドアの内部が冷蔵室である場
合に限定されるものではない。
【００２０】各レールなし展示ドア(10)の右上隅に、１
個の蝶番装置(16)を設け、１本の捩じりロッド(18)を、
ドア(10)の右下隅の近くの支持構造材(12)に取付けた調
節可能な支台(20)に装着してある。
【００２１】図２、及び図２の４−４線における断面を
示す図４は、蝶番装置(16)の詳細を示す図である。この
蝶番装置(16)は、アメリカ合衆国特許第４，６７１，５
８２号明細書（１９８７年６月９日発行）に記載された
ものに準じたものである。ただし、図２及び図４に示し
た蝶番装置(16)に代えて、他の適当な蝶番装置を適用し
てもよい。
【００２２】図３は、捩じりロッド(18)を、各展示ドア
(10)の右下隅の支台(20)に装着する要領を示す断面図で
ある。捩じりロッド(18)及び調節可能な支台(20)は、ア
メリカ合衆国特許第４，６９６，０７８号明細書（１９
８７年９月２９日発行）に記載されたものに準じて構成
してあるが、他の型式の捩じりロッドと支台とを使用し
てもよい。例えば、捩じりロッド(18)を支持構造材(12)
内に設けた透孔に装着するようにしてもよい。
【００２３】図４、及び図４の５−５線における断面を
示す図５には、外側、中間及び内側のガラスパネル(14)
(22)及び(24)を使用した冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ドア(1
0)を示してある。各パネルは、好ましくはアルミニウム
などの金属製の２個の中空スペーサ(26)により、間隔を
あけて取付けてある。ただし、スペーサ(26)は、金属製
に限らず、どのような材質のものでもよい。各中空スペ
ーサ(26)は、図４に示すようにドア(10)の周縁に沿っ
て、長方形の枠状に形成してある。
【００２４】中空スペーサ(26)には、図５に示すように
乾燥剤(30)を充填しておくのが望ましい。乾燥剤(30)
は、どんなものを使用してもよい。スペーサ(26)とガラ
スパネル(14)(22)(24)との間には、図５に示すように、
ゴム製あるいはネオプレンやビニールなどの合成樹脂製
の断熱板(28)を挟着してある。
【００２５】外面と内面のガラスパネル(14)と(24)との
間には、図５に示すように、展示ドア(14)の各側縁に沿
って、４個の中空の管状部材(34)を設けてある。図４に
は、１個の管状部材(34)をドア(10)の上縁に沿って延
び、他の管状部材(34)をドア(10)の右側縁に沿って延び
た状態を示してある。同様に、別の管状部材(34)を、ド
ア(10)の左側縁及び下縁に沿って延ばしてある。管状部
材(34)は、アルミニウム製とするのが望ましいが、他の
材料を使用してもよい。
【００２６】同じく図５に示すように、各管状部材(34)
には、平面部(36)と張出し縁(37)とを設けてある。各管
状部材(34)とガラスパネル(14)及び(24)との間には、図
５に示すように、ゴムあるいはネオプレンの断熱板(38)
を挟着してある。図４では、水平側の管状部材(34)の端
部(39)を、垂直側の管状部材(34)の平面部(36)に当接さ
せてある。
【００２７】図４及び図５に示すように、管状部材(34)
と中空のスペーサ(26)との間、及び管状部材(34)とガラ
スパネル(14)及び(24)との間の隙間に、封止材(32)を配
置してある。封止材(32)は、管状部材(34)、スペーサ(2
6)及びガラスパネル(14)(22)(24)に接着されて、ガラス
パネル(14)(22)(24)を取付け位置に保持するようにして
ある。好ましくは、封止材(32)は、ポリサルファイドあ
るいはポリウレタンを使用する。ただし、上記のように
硬化され接着できるものであれば、どのような熱硬化性
の封止材を使用してもよい。
【００２８】冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ドア(10)には、ド
ア(10)の周縁を囲む外枠(42)を設けてある。外枠(42)
は、ほぼ長方形の枠に形成してある。図２、図３及び図
５に示すように、外枠(42)は、内側のガラスパネル(24)
の内面に当接又はそれを被覆し、外側のガラスパネル(1
4)の外面を覆わないように設けてある。冷蔵庫のレール
なし展示ドア(10)を、より魅力的に、あるいはより好ま
しくするために、展示ドア(10)の前面あるいは外面、も
しくはドア構造材(10)の側面には、外枠(42)の表面が少
ししか現われないようにしてある。必要に応じて、外面
に現われる外枠(42)の小面積の部分を、図７に示す湾曲
面(50)のように丸めてもよい。
【００２９】ドア外枠(42)は、内面部(47)と側面部(49)
とで、ほぼＶ字状の断面をなしている。側面部(49)に
は、外枠(42)の内周に沿って延びる突出材(52)を形成し
て、管状部材(34)の溝あるいは開口(54)に係合又ははめ
こんであり、図５に示すように、ガラスパネル(14)と(2
4)との周縁をそれぞれ側面部(49)に当接させて、ガラス
パネル(14)と(24)とを外枠(42)に対して位置決めするよ
うにしてある。この構成により、冷蔵庫のレールなし展
示ドア(10)を、ナット、ボルトないしねじなどの機械的
な結合部品を使用せずに、一体に保持することができ
る。
【００３０】冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ドア(10)に、図６
に示すようにハンドル(60)を取付けることができる。図
２から図４に示すように、外枠(42)には、右上隅に蝶番
(16)用の透孔(62)を、右下隅に捩じりロッド(18)用の透
孔(64)を設けてある。ハンドル(60)及び透孔(62)(64)
は、必要に応じて、ドアの左側あるいは右側のどちらに
でも設けることができる。
【００３１】図２には、ドア(10)を閉止位置に保持する
ための、マグネット(68)を内臓したドアパッキング(66)
を外枠(42)に取付けた状態を示してある。図５には、管
状部材(34)に接触する位置にワイヤ(40)を取付けて、封
止材(32)を所定位置に保持する状態を示してある。
【００３２】図７は、冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ドア(10)
の他の実施例を示す部分断面図である。この実施例は、
ガラスパネルを(14)及び(24)の２枚のみ使用し、乾燥剤
(30)を充填した中空の周縁スペーサ(70)を１列のみ使用
したものである。封止材(32)は、ガラスパネル(14)(2
4)、スペーサ(70)及び管状部材(34)に、一体的に接着し
てある。
【００３３】図１、図３、図５及び図７に示すように、
ガラスパネル(14)(24)の内面(21)(23)の周縁(56)(58)に
近い境界(59)を、それぞれ、塗料(あるいはその他の被
覆剤)で塗装してある。塗装した境界(59)は、管状部材
(34)及びスペーサ(26)(70)を隠して、ドア(10)の外観を
よりきれいに見せる。
【００３４】図８は、冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ドア(10)
の他の実施例を示す断面図である。この実施例は、３枚
のガラスパネル(14)(22)(24)、好ましくは乾燥剤(30)を
充填した２個の中空スペーサ(26)、及び絶縁材(28)を使
用するものである。ただし、必要に応じて、図７に準じ
て、２枚だけのガラスパネル(14)(24)を使用するように
してもよい。(88)は第２図におけるパッキング(66)と同
様のパッキングであり、(90)はそれを収容する開口であ
る。
【００３５】ドア外枠(72)は、前記実施例とは異なる形
状で、２個の周縁延伸部(76)(78)を備えている。また、
図５及び図７における管状部材(34)に代えて、Ｃ形断面
部材(74)を用いている。封止材(32)は、ガラスパネル(1
4)(22)(24)、スペーサ(26)、ドア外枠(72)及びＣ形断面
部材(74)に接着してある。ドア外枠(72)の突出材(76)と
(78)とは、外枠(72)とその他の部材とを確実に接合する
ために、封止材(32)の中に突出させてある。この構成に
より、図５や図７に示した、溝(54)にはめこむ突出材(5
2)を設ける必要がなくなる。
【００３６】Ｃ形断面部材(74)は、アルミニウム等の金
属材料を押出し加工をして形成するのが望ましい。ただ
し、アルミニウム以外の金属やファイバーガラスなどの
強化樹脂を使用してもよい。また、部材(74)を、押出し
加工の他、成型加工、鋳造、機械加工等の手段で製作し
てもよい。Ｃ形断面部材(74)には、ゴム、ネオプレンな
どのプラスチックス、あるいはビニール製の断熱緩衝器
(80)を取付けてある。断熱緩衝器(80)は、Ｃ形断面部材
(74)の長手方向に沿って延ばすのが望ましい。断熱緩衝
器(80)は、内面パネル(24)から外面パネル(14)への冷気
の伝導を減少させるとともに、Ｃ形断面部材(74)とガラ
スパネルとの接触を緩衝する。
【００３７】ドア外枠(42)及び(72)は、金属、ファイバ
ーガラス、プラスチックスなどの適宜の材料で製造すれ
ばよい。ドア外枠の材質には、ケイソール社製のケイソ
ール１１０１−００５番ビニールなどのクリアベース樹
脂を適用するのが望ましい。可撓性の突出部(82)(84)(8
6)が、複列押出し加工によってドア外枠(72)に熱溶着さ
れており、外枠(72)がガラスパネル(14)及び(24)の端面
及びガラスパネル(24)の内面に対して当接する部分の緩
衝材ないし台座として作用する。突出部(82)(84)(86)
は、好ましくはショア硬度３５〜６０の塩化ビニール添
加の熱可塑性弾性プラスチック材料を使用する。ただ
し、その他のプラスチック又はその他の柔軟な（弾性）
材料を使用してもよい。
【００３８】以上、好ましい実施例に基づいて本発明を
説明したが、本発明は、上述内容に限定されるものでは
なく、各種の変形応用を含むものである。すなわち、本
発明は、発明の本質を逸脱しない範囲で、上述実施例の
形状及び細部を変更し得るものである。

【発明の効果】(ａ) 所要間隔で重ねた２枚又はそれ以
上のガラスパネル(14)(22)(24)を、ボルトやナット等の
機械的な結合手段を使用せずに、封止材(32)によって、
スペーサ(26)(70)、構造部材(34)(74)、ドア外枠(42)(7
2)と一体的に結合することにより、冷蔵庫の展示ドア
を、容易かつ安価に製造することができる。
【００４０】(ｂ) ドア外枠(42)(72)が、ドアの外面に
現われる部分を小さくしてあるので、外観の見栄えがよ
い。
【００４１】(ｃ) スペーサ(26)(70)及び構造部材(34)
(74)と各ガラスパネルとの間に、ゴム等の断熱材を設け
て、内外のガラスパネルの間の冷気の伝導を減少させて
あるため、保冷効果が高い。
【００４２】(ｄ) スペーサ(26)(70)を中空として、乾
燥剤(30)を充填することにより、各ガラスパネルの間の
湿気を除去して曇りを防止し、展示効果を向上させるこ
とができる。
【００４３】(ｅ) レールなし展示ドアとするための、
蝶番装置(16)及び捩じりロッド(18)を、構造部材(34)(7
4)に容易に取付けることができる。

Claims (20)

  1. 【請求項１】 外側ガラスパネル及び内側ガラスパネル
    と、両ガラスパネルの間に設けられ、両ガラスパネルの
    周縁に沿って延びる中空のスペーサと、両ガラスパネル
    の間に設けられ、両ガラスパネルの周縁を囲んで延びる
    構造部材と、両ガラスパネルの周縁端を囲んで延びるド
    ア外枠と、両ガラスパネルの間に設けられ、両ガラスパ
    ネル、スペーサ、構造部材及びドア外枠を一体的に保持
    する封止材とを備えてなる冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ド
    ア。
  2. 【請求項２】 構造部材に、両ガラスパネル間の冷気の
    伝導を減少させるための断熱手段を取付けてなる請求項
    １記載の冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ドア。
  3. 【請求項３】 ドア外枠が、両ガラスパネルの外周縁端
    に係合し、内側ガラスパネルの内面周縁を覆うようにし
    てなる請求項１記載の冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ドア。
  4. 【請求項４】 中空のスペーサに、乾燥剤を充填してな
    る請求項１記載の冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ドア。
  5. 【請求項５】 スペーサと両ガラスパネルとの間に、ゴ
    ム断熱板を設置してなる請求項１記載の冷蔵庫のレール
    なし展示ドア。
  6. 【請求項６】 封止材が、熱溶着性の封止材である請求
    項１記載の冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ドア。
  7. 【請求項７】 断熱手段がゴムである請求項２記載の冷
    蔵庫のレールなし展示ドア。
  8. 【請求項８】 外側ガラスパネル、中間ガラスパネル及
    び内側ガラスパネルと、外側ガラスパネルと中間ガラス
    パネルとの間に設けた中空のスペーサと、中間ガラスパ
    ネルと内側ガラスパネルとの間に設けた中空のスペーサ
    と、内側ガラスパネルと外側ガラスパネルとの間に設け
    られ、内側及び外側ガラスパネルの外周縁を囲んで延び
    る構造部材と、内側ガラスパネル及び外側ガラスパネル
    の外周縁を囲んで延びるドア外枠と、内側ガラスパネル
    と外側ガラスパネルとの間に設けられ、スペーサ、構造
    部材、外側、中間、内側ガラスパネル、及びドア外枠を
    一体的に保持する封止材とを備える冷蔵庫のレールなし
    展示ドア。
  9. 【請求項９】 構造部材の内周縁に、封止材の中に延び
    る突出部を設けた請求項８記載の冷蔵庫のレールなし展
    示ドア。
  10. 【請求項１０】 ドア外枠が、内側ガラスパネルの内面
    周縁に係合して、内側ガラスパネルの内面周縁を覆うよ
    うにしてなる請求項８記載の冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ド
    ア。
  11. 【請求項１１】 各スペーサに、乾燥剤を充填してなる
    請求項８記載の冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ドア。
  12. 【請求項１２】 各スペーサと各ガラスパネルとの間
    に、ゴム断熱板を設けてなる請求項８記載の冷蔵庫のレ
    ールなし展示ドア。
  13. 【請求項１３】 封止材が、熱溶着性封止材である請求
    項８記載の冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ドア。
  14. 【請求項１４】 構造部材に、内側ガラスパネルと外側
    ガラスパネルとの間の冷気の伝導を減少させる断熱手段
    を設けてなる請求項８記載の冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ド
    ア。
  15. 【請求項１５】 外側ガラスパネル及び内側ガラスパネ
    ルと、両ガラスパネルの間に設けられ、両ガラスパネル
    の外周縁端を囲んで延びる中空のスペーサと、両ガラス
    パネルの間に設けた構造部材と、構造部材に設けられ、
    内側ガラスパネルと外側ガラスパネルとの間の冷気の伝
    導を減少させる断熱手段と、各ガラスパネルの外周縁を
    囲んで延びるドア外枠と、両ガラスパネルの間に設けら
    れ、両ガラスパネル、スペーサ、構造部材、及びドア外
    枠を一体的に保持する封止材とを備えてなる冷蔵庫のレ
    ールなし展示ドア。
  16. 【請求項１６】 ドア外枠が、両ガラスパネルの外周縁
    端に係合し、内側ガラスパネルの内面側周縁部を覆うよ
    うにした請求項１５記載の冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ド

  17. 【請求項１７】 中空のスペーサの乾燥剤を充填した請
    求項１５記載の冷蔵庫のレールなし展示ドア。
  18. 【請求項１８】 スペーサと両ガラスパネルとの間に、
    ゴム断熱板を設置した請求項１５記載の冷蔵庫のレール
    なし展示ドア。
